You would think after 7 Disney cruises I would know this, but if we are late for our PAT but there before all aboard, will we have any problem?

No. The Port Arrival Time is, basically, a "no earlier than" time. You can arrive at any time after it.

Exactly right.

However, if you do have a coveted early PAT and know more than 3 days in advance that you are going to be late, IMHO the polite thing to do would be to select a later PAT and make Magic for. someone checking for an earlier time every hour.
