We have a port a crib for our room---DD has napped in her pack and play at home fine. But now I'm wondering if we should go with the rental from ABBF?

I wouldn't bother. We used the Disney port-a-crib when DS was 2 and 2.5 and it worked fine........also used one for a 10 day trip when he was 12 months and 18 months.

And he slept in regular cribs at home and day care but figured out the pack n play was where he was sleeping at Disney.

I did bring a waterproof pad, one of his sheets, and his special stuffed animal to make it more like home.

I think the thing you have to remember is that port-a-crib mattresses aren't proper mattresses and I would be concerned about your babys back sleeping on one for several nights. Babies backs are still relatively delicate at this age.

I would go for renting a proper crib personally.

DS was 8 months old on his first trip to WDW. We used a port-a-crib for him. He was so tired, he would have slept in a drawer, if we wanted him to. Most times, he fell asleep on the ride back to the resort, so he didn't even know where he was being put to sleep. At 10 months old, your child should be fine with that.

We used the pack and play on our first trip with DD. She was 8 months old. We went down again when she was 14 months and ended up in bed with us because she could climb out of the pnp.

We leave on 3/25 with our two daughters (oldest is 2 youngest will be almost 8 months) and I rented two full size cribs. I think my youngest would be fine in the pnp but since I was getting one for my oldest I got one for her too.

last time we went my middle(then youngest) dd was 11 months old and we just used the pack and play that was provided, she didn't mind at all, I wouldn't bother with renting a crib

I've used the pack-n-play for both my kids since they were 2 months old. Neither of them ever minded it a bit...I love that thing! I usually bring my own sheet and at least one small toy/music from baby's crib at home just to keep things familiar. Good luck!

We used our own pack n play last year for our DS (8mo.s at the time). But we drove down and were able to bring plenty of quilts to make it softer. We'll be bringing it again this year with a new fitted padded sheet we bought the other night at Babies R Us. Anyway, we bring our own because we can, and because we've read stories here of people not being able to get their requested crib from the resort until way after their child's bedtime. Hopefully, by bringing ours, there will be more available for those who had to fly in.

I say rent the crib! We had bad experiences with our dd (now 4) when she was under 2. She would nap in a pack and play, but she would not sleep at night unless she was in a crib. Some kids will sleep anywhere, but just to be safe, I would go with the crib for a week's stay. At least you know what you are in for!
