Is it worth the extra $ to pay for a waterview at this resort? Does it put you closer to the main pool? We will be in AB since there are 5 of us.

No, I don't think it is worth the extra money. If you had a balcony it would be a different story but you don't. You can still request one of the blgs that surround the water to be closer to the pool without the view (and extra charge).

I wouldn't bother paying exra for water view. With all the trees around, you probably wouldn't have that great of a water view from the room.

the moderates don't have private balconies or patios, so the view from your room is going to be of the walkway outside your room. Any view of the river, or the pools will come from the common walkway. I don't think it would be worth it paying for the water view.

Hi! We actually stayed at POFQ, not POR, but we paid extra for river view and we found it to be worth it. We were so close and enjoyed the scenery alot. We kept our window open much of the time - very little foot traffic outside our door. I know we didn't really spend tons of time actually staring at the river or anything, but it was a nice addition. :flower:

We stayed at POR in April and had a water view room. I loved it and it was worth every penny in my opinion. Besides the view, we were at the very front of Magnolia Terrace. Very convient to the food court, lobby, bus stop, etc. :sunny:

We were in a POR AB room in March and we loved it. Yes it was a shared walkway, but DW and I were able to sit outside after the kids went to bed. We were in AB 27. This put us beside the "river", close to the main pool, close to a quiet pool and very close to the main building. The view outside our room was excellent, particularly in the morning!

If you only plan to sleep and run,,, don't spend the extra $$$... BUT if you enjoy lounging and checking out the scenery... it's worth it.

We have never stayed at POR before and the map is a little confusing to me. Are there any main pool view rooms at all in AB? If so, what building? Thanks for all/any help!

I'd actually warn against a pool view! The 'quiet' pools are open 24 hours and can be noisy; even when you are trying to get some sleep. You'll also notice more foot traffic past your room, because of the location.
