POR vs POFQ

For what it's worth, Riverside I thought had the better pool (might make a difference with the kids), but the smaller resort thing is really nice. Riverside had more food options, but I would keep an eye on how the new food court looks at French Quarter (should be open in the next few months).

We prefer POR overall. Room wise, if you are in the Mansions at POR and FQ they are very similar. I just liked the look of the grounds at POR better. We found the bus issue to be a non-issue. We have no problems at POR and had no problems at FQ. We don't eat at Resort QS enough to have that be a factor at all. We do love the lounge at POR (best wings we've ever had)

This is all great info, thank you! Has anyone ever had any luck getting a discount in July for POFQ.

The only discount I've seen for FQ is an AP discount this past summer. Any other time I've looked, it's been excluded.
Though admittedly I didn't look at the time to see if it was included in the GP discount or not. The AP discounts and the GP discounts are different, both in rates and rooms/resorts included

I agree with POFQ may be the better choice with very young children. Some buildings at POR are a walk (one that our adults only family enjoys) from the bus and main building.

To the Lobby yes, but there are no buildings really far from a bus stop at POR. For sure not any further than the walk from a river view room at POFQ to the bus stops would be

I'm sure this gets posted often... But what are the pros and cons of staying in either the POR/POFQ vs the other.

They're both nice- relaxing and pretty. POFQ is smaller, so it's my go-to resort if I have someone on the trip that can't/won't do lots of walking at the resort.
