No free dining for POR during our stay, but for $400 more, we could switch to Boardwalk Villas. WE are familiar with POR, having stayed there before and liked it. Will we like Boardwalk enough better to make the switch worth it? Thanks for any feedback. Need to jump on this soon.

There are a number of factors to consider. I'm assuming you mean there is free dining at BW and the $400 more is total and not nightly. Would you spend at least $400 on food? If so, it's a good deal to bump from a moderate to a deluxe. Is there a room only discount at either place? If so, would that be less and could you get your tickets for less on line somewhere? If so, it might be better to go that route.

We love the Boardwalk. We have stayed on the Inn side many times and the Villa side once. The biggest positive is being able to walk or boat to Epcot and DHS. It is an easy walk over to Epcot. We would wander over almost every evening of our stay. Sometimes for a meal, sometimes for a snack, and at least once for Illuminations. And the boardwalks a nice place to grab an ice cream and just sit and watch the world by.

We can't tell you what you will like.
Others have asked the important questions. Also How many in your party?
I assume you are looking at a BWV Studio. You should know that there will only be 1 Queen bed in the Studio. The other sleeping surfaces are a pull out sofa and a small drop down bed
I love that area and depending on how many nights it is only $400 for I might switch

Definitely compare your costs with free dining vs the 25% room only discount. I just priced multiple hotels, in different categories and there was a significant savings. Even after adding in paying for the dining plan you'd get 'free'. That said, if I was there for more than 3 nights, I'd switch to boardwalk for free dining for only $400 more. We love the boardwalk area.

Boardwalk Villas are our favorite! As others have said, if we had an idea of how many nights you are talking about, we could probably give you a better assessment. But upgrading to a deluxe resort with the DDP for $400 on the surface sounds like a good deal to me. The Boardwalk/EP/DHS area is fantastic and there is so much to do there.
