My family of 5 (2 adults and girls 12, 9, and 4) will be going to WDW for the first time in September 2008. Unfortunately, I noticed that most of the Value rooms are a maximum of 4 persons.

Which is better POR standard room or an ASM Suite? They are both comparable in price. Plus which resort would be best overall for a 7 day stay?

Thanks for helping out a newbie trying to make sense of all this planning. It is quite overwhelming!

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

We are a family of 5 and we have done both! We enjoyed having the space in the ASM suite, but it was a value resort and we were used to a moderate and even a deluxe resort. We are returning to the POR resort this year because we enjoy the atmosphere much more than at ASM. The buildings are spaced apart and are much quieter than ASM.

Either resort would be a good choice. The one negative for ASM is that because it is a value resort, groups use those resorts for their stays including cheerleaders. So if you are there during a cheerleader competition at WDW, then it might not be as enjoyable.
