POR Transportation Any Good?

We're staying at POR Aug 28 - Sept 3, may be a little busy but we're hoping not as bad as the middle of the summer.

For those of you that have stayed at POR, do you think the Disney transportation is good? We are going to be relying on it quite a bit. DH, DS2 and DS4 (who is autistic and at times impatient) will be on the trip with me.

Any feed back you have about best bus stops for first pick up or general wait times during the time or season we are going would be greatly appreciated.

We have never had any problems with PO-R transportation, but of course we haven't experienced it with other factors added in. There are 4 stops... the 1st of which is to the left side of the Sassagoula Steamboat Company (main building. The 2nd stop is around the bend servicing most of Alligator Bayou. The 3rd is between Alligator Bayou and Acadian House, which is the 1st mansion, and the last is between Magnolia Terrace and Oak Manor. Partiere Place and Alligator Bayou bldgs 14 and 15 are closer to the 1st stop. The busses usually run every 20 minutes to each park, with water parks and DTD added in during the times that they are open. The DTD bus will make a stop at Typhoon Lagoon before heading back to your resort, and the Animal Kingdom bus will many times make a stop at Blizzard Beach before heading back to your resort. It depends on time of day, and time of year. Also, during some quieter times of the day, PO-R will share a bus with POFQ (only has one stop), so there may be people already on the bus by the time it gets to you, and there are even times when the bus is full by the time they get to the 4th stop at PO-R. I would suggest that perhaps you make use of the 1st stop at PO-R and perhaps request a room in either Alligator Bayou bldgs 14 or 15, or Partiere Place.

Have a great time, and I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

We were there Sunday through Wednesday before thanksgiving. We didn't have much trouble, however we always got on at the 1st bus stop. There were many times the bus would fill up at that stop (after already picking up people from POFQ). The bus would then bypass stops 2-4 at POR and go straight to its destination. I don't know what the wait was if you had been at the other stops or if they had busses gong straight to those stops and bypassing POFQ and stop 1 of POR or not.

Although stop 2 was closer to our room, we were usually getting on the bus after having breakfast, or filling our mugs, so it wasn't a big deal to go to that stop, and we felt we probably had a better chance of getting on a bus at that stop. Whether that was true or not I don't know.

We had no problem with the transportation service at POR when we were there last Feb. As a matter of fact we stayed in the Magnolia Terrace which is real close to the bus stop.

Have a great day!!
