POR room request downgrade

i booked a garden view bc standard was booked already but I know there are more standard rooms in a building than garden view. I am requesting to be in one of 3 buildings based on location and so wondering if I should say I wouldn't mind a standard view if it means getting the building I prefer? How would I word that and do they read the whole fax or should I bold? Thanks!

You should discuss this when you check in, in person at the front desk. Or/and keep checking for Standard availability.

If the request doesn't mesh with the room type paid for, they will ignore the request thinking it is an accident.

I agree. Just put the building request on your reservation. If they put you in a different building upon check in, ask if it's possible to move then.

Right. And this is when you tell the front desk CM, if your assigned room isn't in one of the three buildings you requested, that you wish to be downgraded to a Standard room in one of those buildings if one is available. For no compensation.

Faxing is not necessary, all you need to do is call 407-W-DISNEY and say "Please note on my reservation that I would like to be in buildings X, Y or Z." They'll type it into your reservation record right then.

The OP noted there are garden view rooms in the buildings she would like, just less of them than standard, so this isn't an issue.

So if a room in any of them isn't available they won't know she wants the location over the view. She needs to talk to someone to explain that.
