Hi, I just booked POR with a river view for a family of 5 for Oct. Which buildings are considered a river view? Also, is it worth it and how close to foodcourt etc.? TIA
If you have 5 people in your room (all over the age of 3), you will be in the Alligator Bayou section. You can find a map (along with a lot more info) at the POR thread on these boards at the following link.
A river view room is a different price category from a preferred room. Although a preferred room could have a river view (but could also have a courtyard view)
While there are riverview rooms in the preferred buildings, those who booked the preferred buildings would be given first preference since they booked that category. So a person booked in the preferred building that requested river view would most likely be given preference over someone who booked riverview, even if they included a request to be close to the main building.
Yes, you will be in AB. You should book whichever category is most important - if you'd rather have a riverview, you should book riverview and request a building close to the food court. If you'd rather be close to the food court, you should book Preferred and request river view. Your request isn't guaranteed but what you book is (usually) guaranteed, so just book whichever is more important to you. There are buildings in the back that can have riverview - they are spread out.
Thanks. The map helped a lot! I was a little confused, because looking at the map for the AB section, the only buildings that face the river are 38 and the three in preferred, 14,18, 27. So, I'm guessing more likely building 38 then. This will be our first stay at POR and I'm still trying to get the feel of it.
