POR river view or courtyard view?

Which do you prefer and what do you see? Is there a benefit for first floor vs. second?

okay the river view is misleading - it is water view or standard.

a water view can be the pool or even worst at POR - the fountains.

go with the standard view.

I would go with the standard view. You may get the courtyard, you may get a fountain, you may get a parking lot...but waterview can indeed be very misleading at POR...

I like the first floor, but the second is also lovely. How tired are you going to be at the end of the day? Yes, there are elevators, but I think the first floor works great!

We paid for standard and had a lovely courtyard view of the fountain outside our mansion. I was very pleased.

I just returned from a brief trip with just my mom. We stayed POR standard view (and I am a view snob). Our view from Oak Manor onto open space gardens between Oak Manor and Magnolia Terrace was very pleasant. We did ask for a non parking lot view. We also asked for Alligator Bayou, but did not receive. Oak Manor was a great location, easy walk to Main Building. We also walked to French Quarter and that was an easy 10 minute walk, very pretty.
