POR River Cruise for kids question

I've tried the search function but can't find the information I need. Does anyone know what days of the week the new "Jester" POR RIver cruise for kids will be offered. Also, are you making the reservations through CRO or the POR marina? THanks.

Yes, both CBR and POR have added cruises similar to GF and YC Pirate cruises. I know the CBR one is on Tuesdays and you make the reservation at the marina. We may be switching to POR so now I need to get information on the POR one.

I called to reserve this at WDW-DINE. The CM had not heard of it, but when she looked it up under children's activities it was there. It is called the "Sassagoula River Adventure Cruise" and is offered on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 - 1:30. It is the same price and includes the same lunch/snack thing as the Pirate and Albatross cruises. The CM told me it leaves from the POR Fishing Hole.

The first cruise was yesterday, March 2. My DD4 will be going this Tuesday, March 7!!! We are staying at POFQ so it will be very convenient for us.

Thank you so much. My kids have done the GF one and loved it. We were originally staying at CBR and I booked them on their new cruise but now it looks as if we're changing to POR so I'm going to call and change once I change our package reservation.

It's just for the kids, ages 4-11 I believe. The kids are served lunch usually peanut butter and jelly uncrustables, goldfish crackers, juice etc. My kids did the Pirate Cruise at the GF twice and loved it. Now they're excited to try a new one.

They just cruise down the Sassagoula River and back. There in no 'destination'.

My boys are signed for our trip in June.

By the way, I discovered that Sassagoula is the Indian word for Mississippi. So the river is really supposed to be the Mississippi River, which makes sense with the Orleans themes at POFQ and POR. I just thought this was pretty cool!

Darn! So PB&J is served on this one, too?!?

My DD is severely allergic to peanuts and she hasn't been able to do the pirate cruises. When I saw this I got excited thinking it was something else she could do.

I had booked her for the Cooking Adventure, but had to cancel it cause they couldn't verify the ingredients in the pudding they make.

I have called before about the GF cruise and they told me they would fix her something else to eat, but the thought of her on a boat w/o me sitting by a boat full of kids eating peanut butter totally freaks me out. Plus, they told me they would not give her her Epi if she needed it. Either she would need to give it to herself or her sister give it to her. (Her sister is 5!) Like an 8 year old is gonna be able to administer a needle to herself when she can barely breath...

With so many kids having peanut allergies these days you'd think they'd offer something else. Total bummer.

I'm bumping this old thread up because I am interested in any reviews of the Sassagoula River Adventure. I have DS booked for our October trip but if it is lame I would prefer to save the $$$ and go to the parks...

FYI, the time has changed to start t 9:30 like the other cruises. Probably found it was too hot to be wearing life vests then. We're signed up for the end of Sept and got a call from a CM about it.
