We will be checking in to the POR the first week of December, and I have heard that renovations are being done all around the property. Any idea when these will be through? Also, I have read a few recent negative comments about the room conditions there, peeling paint, lightbulbs out, dirty bathtubs etc... Has anyone had a recent stay here that can comment on your room conditions or the overall conditions of the resort? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

We have stayed there many times.. Always in the Bayou's. We've never had a problem or a complaint!! I guess its just luck of the draw! It is our favorite & we plan to return again! MY parents have stayed there 3 times as well. No trouble.

The rooms in POR that sleep 5 are in Alligator Bayou and have a trundle bed. From what I've read (can't remember where now), the trundle bed is not for adults (it's less than 5' long).

They have been doing outside rennovations but I wasn't aware of inside rennovations going on. At one time they were going to redo Old Man Island in Sept/Oct. timeframe but now with the closure of the CBR I heard they have changed this to do in Jan. If you are concerned just call the resort directly and see what they know. Keep in mind that often people on the boards know things before the CMs.

We were there in Nov. last year and the rooms were worn but fine. I've been reading posts about the rooms at GF also having scratched furniture, worn carpets, etc. While we found them to be well used at the POR - AB area, we also found them to be clean.

Hi,
We just got back from PO Riverside. We stayed in the Acadian House in Magnolia Bend. We had a nice room. It was in good condition. We really didn't notice any repairs going on.
The only problem we had with the room was with the bedding. The fitted sheet and mattress pad would come off every night! This is a common problem at DW. It has happened at every Disney resort we have stayed at.
The food court area has scaffolding around it (by the big wheel), but we never saw people working on it.
It is a great resort!

There are quite a few. When you make your ressie, just ask for a trundle bed room. They'll take care of you ! But yes, they are in the Bayou!
