Hi everyone! We are preparing for our upcoming trip and we have never stayed at POR, so of course I have questions! We are a family of 6 and here are my questions...

1. We booked 2 connecting preferred rooms....any particular location to request? Are we guaranteed connecting rooms?

2.How many floors are there and do they have elevators? I can't imagine lugging all our stuff up a flight of stairs!

3. Will a full size crib fit in the room? And if so, where?

4. Are the entrances outside and is it very noisy with people walking by your room?

5. I booked through orbitz...how do I deal with requests? Do I still fax it myself or does orbitz have to do it?

6. We have our own car, is the parking lot close to where my room will be?

Thats all I have for now....thanks so much!!

Unfortunately, connecting rooms are not guaranteed, but they try their best to make it happen.

The preferred buildings are all in the AB section which are 2 stories with no elevators.

3. Will a full size crib fit in the room? And if so, where?
Yes, the sink area is usually a good spot.

4. Are the entrances outside and is it very noisy with people walking by your room?
Yes the rooms lead directly to the outside. We actually prefer this over indoor hallways and no we do not have any noise issues. But like any resort if you have careless neighbors then you will hear them, no matter where you stay.

5. I booked through orbitz...how do I deal with requests? Do I still fax it myself or does orbitz have to do it?
You can do it all yourself, you just need the reservation #. I would also setup the reservation under MDE.

6. We have our own car, is the parking lot close to where my room will be?
POR has parking lots close to all their building areas.

I would check out http://www.portorleans.org/ it has a ton of stuff on POR, have a great trip. POR is one of our favorite resorts.

Many of your questions can be answered by visiting the POR Resort thread here:

1. Connecting rooms are never guaranteed ( or almost never). Especially if there are 2 or more adults in the group. Look at the resort map to see where the preferred rooms are located and decide which one you would like to request.
2. There are no elevators in the AB buildings. You could request first floor rooms.
3. Probably, if you move some of the furniture around. But Disney doesn't supply cribs. They supply a pack & play.
4. Outside entrances. Not particularly noisy- it depends on the people passing by. :confused3
5. Orbitz would be considered a TA, so I'm pretty sure you have to go thru them for anything to do with your room.
6. Depends on which building you're in.

Try not to ask for too many requests. They are unlikely to be able to grant them all. Try to rank them in order of importance, ie: connecting, first floor, building #, etc.

We are a family of 7 and always request connecting rooms and luckily have always received them. Even though it is not guaranteed Disney does a really good job of trying to give you what you request. The more requests though, the less likely you are to receive all of them. Since you've book preferred you know you are close. You can request a certain building (for example building 27 is preferred but still pretty far away) so maybe request building 14 which is close. I would add your request(s) to your reservation and also fax it in. Let them know connecting is your 1st priority, but then a building or floor is second. We preferred staying on the second floor, it's really quiet at POR so either floor works.

We have done reservations with TAs and the only thing you need to go through them with, is if you want to change your dates around or change the room category, then the TA has to do this for you. All other stuff like room requests, ADRs, FP+ etc. you can do yourself online or calling WDW.
