If you book a preferred room is that for preferred location, as in closer to the bus stop and/or food court?

Yes you'll be in the Alligator Bayou section. We were just there in April with one stay in building 14 & the other in building 18. Great locations.

Preferred rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are buildings 14, 15, 18, and 27. Other buildings are close to other bus stops (and cost less per night).

I tell you, we are in the best room. Magnolia Terrace, 8611, garden view. We are steps to the east bus stop, quiet pool, and the bridge to the main pool and food court. I do not think I have ever had a better location in 6 trips.

We were in 9725! I do know we were upgraded to a RR and it felt like a preferred location since we had a quiet pool (my boys loved more than the main). It took us maybe 5 minutes to get to the food court and bus depot! Oh man I loved the location.

Disney got pretty savvy a few years ago with the mods by using requests to make booking category.

The 4 preferred buildings were the ones people requested to be closest to the food court.

One year, I did a solo, all resorts, no parks trip and my preferred spot was Parterre Place, riverview, which was closest to the bridge that went directly over to the marina.

While it may have not been preferred to anyone else, it was to me.

And it was pre RR's, so I had king bed, corner room. What a trip that was.

That's the bldg we stayed!!!! And that's exactly how I felt... Definately a preferred location to me. Love that bridge! :)
