POR/POLY or WL?

Planning a trip in december. Im debating between a split stay at port orleans royal guest room and polynesian or just wilderness lodge. The split stay comes out about 200$ more. Worth it?

My vote is for WL! I haven't been in December, but I hear the Christmas decorations are BEAUTIFUL!! Hoping to catch some of that beauty during our November stay. Of course, given the option, I'd pick WL any time of year.

to me it would depend on how long the trip is. If it's only 5-7 days I'd probably stay put at WL. It's beautiful in December. If it's longer I'd consider a split. I love the Poly and always enjoy staying there. I do love WL at Christmas though. Either scenario will make a fab trip

It will be for 7 nights/8 days

I already booked WL with free dining, but the 30% discount has me thinking of trying poly. This will be my first visit to The world, very excited.

We have stayed at both WL and Poly and while the Poly is our absolute favorite resort overall, I would choose the WL during the holidays . We love both resorts for different reasons, but the WL is amazing in December. The lobby is gorgeous all decorated for Christmas and it's very relaxing sitting in a rocking chair in front of the huge fireplace taking everything in . We stayed at the GF in December 2010 and although that resort is very nice as well, the WL is still our favorite that time of year. With all of that said, I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose as Disney during the holidays is amazing .

I would go with the WL for its amazing decorations, lower price, and the convenience of not having to switch-- especially as first time visitors!

The WL is a beautiful resort and it has so much to offer. But do pay a visit to the Poly for dinner and Wishes fireworks viewing from the beach!

The rooms are huge, all the great transportation options, great food, huge patios and wonderful theme.

The WL is our favorite resort!!! Christmas time there would be amazing!

That being said, our next trip is a POR/POLY split...

I think that I'd the discount makes you more likely to try Poly, than maybe you should try it.

I'm not much help...

WL is a definite. We are on our way home from 11 days at the lodge. It is fantastic.

So is that $200 more figuring in the cost of all your meals you will be paying out of pocket for since this split stay is not a free dining pkg?

Regardless, in my opinion (and this is based on my love if POR and the Poly) I would stick with WL. Its your first trip, WL is.AMAZING at the holidays and split stays while fun, aren't my choice for trips shorter than ten nights.

I agree with this exactly. We have stayed at both and while the Poly is our very favorite, we would choose WL for the holidays over a split-stay somewhere else. One of the things that makes the Poly so special is the pool, which you might not be able to use in December (rumored construction but most importantly, it might be too cold). The WL has a hot tub, so if it's too cold for swimming, you might still enjoy that. Plus the WL lobby during the holidays is heavenly!
