We plan on visiting in March. Everything I booked is refundable. We booked POR for $350/night but I can get the Dolphin for around $300/night. We are a family of 5 and will have to get a roll away which I put into the price. Which resort would you stay at?

If double beds were fine for our family, I'd stay at the Dolphin for the location alone. It's just a 10 minute walk from DHS and maybe 15 from Epcot. Plus all the restaurants in the Crescent Lake area are available - some of the ones at the Swan & Dolphin are among the most popular non-park dining options.

Good point! Are double beds much smaller then queen size beds?

Umm, we’re kind of Pooh sized, and a double is way too small (54” wide) while a queen (60”) is fine. It’s all relative!

A standard full size will also be only 75” long vs. 80” for a queen. It’s one of the main reasons I’ve never booked the Dolphin when my son travels with me.

I do really like the location and the Swan & Dolphin have some great restaurants.

Location, Location, Location. We love SwanDolphin, stayed at POFQ on our last trip as prices at that time were much higher at S/D. While POFQ was good, the need for always taking a bus and the food options at food options at SD are way better IMHO. The downside right now to Dolphin is they are not currently using Disney internal buses, so for your MK day that means either taking their bus to TTC or having a walk over to YC/BC/BW. One recent poster commented the walking to those took more then taking the bus to TTC and either bus/monorail/ferry. The bus to AK is actually in an equal if not less walking distance compared the Disney buses and the boat to Epcot or DHS is just perfect. Plus, starting in January when Mears Connect takes over the Magical Express you can take that to S/D too.

While location is important, doubles are a dealbreaker for me. If you’re used to a Queen, it will be awkward and as far as kids go every extra inch apart you get them is good.

They have Queens at the Swan. You cant beat the location of the Swan & Dolphin.

Swan and dolphin are also included in the evening extra magic hours, if that is interesting to your party.

I would also factor in the walking differences. POR is very spread out, similar to other moderates. It takes a while to get from your room to the bus stop or the food court depending on where your room is. This isn't as much of an issue for the Swam and Dolphin. If you have mobility issues or kids who don't like to walk, that could be another reason.
