Hey all. I had booked POR for a last minute 5 day trip only for my b-day this Dec. It is only DH and myself. We've had a hard time recently, long story, so we really need this vacation. :thumbsup2. Got a great rate of $96 a night. First time we are NOT planning on renting a car. Now I just learn that Swan/Dolphin has free night on your b-day. I am a Starwood member and using points first night if I go into the Swan/Dolphin and getting also a good rate there remainder nights, I save about $100 total compared to POR. I'm hoping for a romantic, nice Christmasy type vacation. What would any of you do? I like the convenience of the S/D to the Boardwalk which we were planning on doing, I like being able to visit the other resorts on the BW at Christmastime also. I also like the rooms/beds MUCH better than the ones at POR. OTOH, we really LOVE the atmosphere at POR, the pathway grounds make me feel like I'm in the Garden of Eden (OK you can see I'm from NY and we don't have that beautiful greenery). Something about that place :lovestruc. I love the boat to DTD. I didn't buy the dining but was considering it. Is the S/D far from the monorail? I know they don't provide bus back and forth from airport but I do believe they have transporation to the parks? Help I cannot decide! :upsidedow:santa::hug::

Is the S/D far from the monorail? no you would have to walk through epcot to the front entrance to get to the mono. Boat to MGM and Epcot .. you could also walk but probably not for rope drop it is a bit of a walk.

I know they don't provide bus back and forth from airport but I do believe they have transportation to the parks? Help I cannot decide! : I think you pay for this, check what it will add...

What about 2 -3 days at each, take advantage of both. 96$ and free b-day. I think you need 3 total night for that. You can also visit board walk and greenery :)
