POR or POFQ?

This will be our 4th trip to the World and we had wanted to stay at the WL but only if we got a code. When it looked like we were going to have to pay rack rate I decided on POFQ. I am now wondering if I should have chosen POR. My children are 13 and 14 and on the first day we are not going to the parks but want to spend the day on the resort. The children want to fish and swim and then we may go to Disney Quest in the evening. I chose POFQ due to the fact that the buses stop there first. I figured we could walk to POR to use whatever facilities we wanted. Now though after seeing all the beautiful pictures of POR I am wondering if it would not be better to stay there. Is there a marina at POFQ or will we have to go to POR to fish? I was hoping that some of you would have good information regarding the two resorts that would help me make my decision.

I have also booked POFQ but am debating now. I think maybe we would like to stay at POR. I have only seen pics and stayed at POR when it was Dixie Landings. I would love to hear opinions about this too!!

For older kids, the pool area at POR is better, slide at FQ is sort of "babyish", ages up to 7 or 8. I think the fishing is only at POR, the boat to Downtown Disney is at POFQ. The good news is that you can use the services interchangeably. Just walk or drive to POR if you aren't staying there.

We just got back from POFQ and loved it! We visited PO Riverside several times and it was much more busier than POFQ. I liked the quietness ( less people) since the parks were so busy. One plus is that you will almost always get a seat on the bus if you stay at POFQ! Plus it is the first stop on the way back from the parks!

One thing we noticed was that the buses did not always stop at POFQ first like they did when we stayed there in '03. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for the buses this trip.

We stayed in December at POR and there was no set pattern for the bus system. I think with the ages of your kids you would probably be happier at POR. There is no marina at FQ. The fishing and boats are at POR. There is a sit down restaurant at POR. We found FQ much more crowded at the food court and pool than POR. Lots more smaller kids due to the themeing of the pool.
