POR or Coronado Springs??

I have booked a stay at the POR in May '04 but am unsure whether to change this due to all the speculation in respect of the renovation work. I am considering moving the holiday to the Coronado Springs. Can anyone advise me as to which resort would be the best, it will be our first time to Disneyworld, in fact our first trip to America! Help.

Hello Sam! I myself have never stayed at CSR, but have stayed at POR (Riverside) twice, and it remains our family's favorite resort! As far as the renovations, we were there when they started, the only thing that changed was a couple of bus stops were closed. I assume it was because of construction vehicles needing easy entry and exit (?) But we were near the main house and that bus stop remained open. If you are planning to stay in one of the Bayou buildings(the best!) ask for building #14, 15, or #18(which is right next to a quiet pool). Have a magical trip!!

I have styed in both and would choose CSR any day over POR. But I know many love POR.

We've stayed in both and I much prefer POR but truthfully they're both nice resorts and I don't think that you can miss with either one.

My family has stayed at both. My wife likes country decorations so I knew would like the southern antebellum look of POR. Surprisingly though, she likes CS better than POR. We stayed at CS two years ago during Dec and we liked the location our building (Cabanas 9B) with respect to the lobby/restaurants, bus stop, and pool.

We also liked the Christmas decorations at CS as well. Either resort is a good choice though.

we stayed at csr in april - i realize alot of people enjoy it but we would not stay there again - i liked the look of the 2 port orleans hotels - imy opiinion they had better theming

i especially did not like have only 1 sink for 4 people - though you'll have a great time no matter where you stay

My vote goes to the POR.

We always split time between the two. CS has a better pool and playground, and because of the conventions, better transportation. POR has a better food court and the Downtown Disney boat. Both are excellent choices.

I've stayed at both. And conversely to Ambassador's response, because of the convention center, I will not be staying at CSR again. I can stay at any old convention center anywhere in the world. When I go to Disney, I want the personal touches and magic that are better offered to me at Port Orleans (it was Dixie Landings when I last stayed there.)

Sound's like they are both great resorts. Think I am more confused than ever!! I will stick with POR and maybe try CSR next time! Can't wait to see Disney or America and can't imagine what the magic will be like, Oh only 8 months to wait!! I think I am more excited than my 8 year old!

Do you have to book at the Boatwrights Restaurant in POR or is it easy to get a table?
I am also thinking of booking to see the Dolly Parton Show anyone Been? Do you rate it?

Boatwrights never appeared to be full in the evening while we were at PORS last March but it did often have a line in the morning. If in doubt, go ahead and make a PS while you're there, you will likely be able to get one. The food court had decent food for counter service but the lines were very long every time we were there. I finally just headed over there to fill our mugs and usually avoided the place the rest of the time. We had a large cheerleader group onsite and that might have been why it was so crowded though.

Haven't been to Dolly's show but you may want to ask on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board. I think that this is a relatively new show so I haven't heard anything about it.
