I am trying to decide where to stay with our family of 5. There will be 3 adults (a tiny DD 19) and she can sleep on pull out bed) and 2 teen boys (14 &17). We've stayed at POFQ and loved it. So, what are the pros and cons of each hotel?

I was in the same situation as you in trying to decide between the 2. In the end, I picked POR because the theming appealed more to me, it has fewer bus stops and the Riverside Mill seems to suit our needs better. I hope we made the right choice. The cost for both was exactly the same so price was not a factor. Good luck choosing.

POR is our favorite moderate resort. Theming, atmosphere, path along the river. POR has the best food court in our opinion in terms of selection and speed and quality. We like the pool because there's some shade. Also has boat to DTD.

We've never stayed at POR, but we loved everything about CBR. We found the grounds to be beautiful and relaxing, the food court had a lot of variety, the pool was great, and the buses were quick and efficient. We have tried other resorts since our CBR stay, but we wouldn't hesitate to return to CBR. With that said, I am always reading great reports about POR. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I'd maybe choose the one that the theme/decor appeals to you the most. Good luck.

POR has boat to DTD, other than that just pick the theme you like more and keep in mind with family of 5 you will be in the AB section at POR.

We have stayed at both, and would return to both as well. In saying that, we found that the bus transportation to the parks was much more consistent at CBR than it was at POR.

I've stayed at both, and POR is our favourite. We love everything about it. We have stayed there 3 times, and are back again in September. We just got back from CBR last week, and I won't rush back there. It was ok, but nowhere near as great as POR. The food at POR is better; boat to DTD is great; pool offers some shade, whereas CBRs is in full sun. Our rooms at POR have always been immaculate - our room at CBR was dirty (crumbs on the floor, hair on the bathroom floor and in the tub, dirty A/C unit).

Both are great resorts that we have stayed at and enjoyed. Dining is very good at both. I would recommend preferred rooms at both.

POR:
rooms 314 sq ft (elegant mansion, rustic cabin or Royal theme decor)
standard rooms can be distant from amenities
2 themed area - alligator bayou and mansions
preferred rooms recommended for proximity and convenience
4 bus stops (rarely shared with POFQ)
multiple quiet pools
'rustic' themed main pool
boat to Downtown Disney
carriage rides available
walk to POFQ

CBR:

rooms 340 sq ft (regular or pirate themed)
lovely walk around the lake, but rooms around it can be distant
pirate rooms very far from amenities and only full beds
newly refurbished
different 'island' sections
7 bus stops (some people find the drive around the resort long)
bus not shared
multiple sitting areas and quiet pools throughout
great 'pirate' themed pool and nice play area
relaxing tropical island theme

Good luck choosing!
