After much debate for our end of March trip, we've decided to stay at a moderate for 2 nights before our stay at BWV as new Disney Vacation Club owners :D (we were going to do Universal first and then Disney but decided to save some $$$ AND have a less hurried vacation).

Anyway, we stayed at POR last year and loved it - the room was a little tired but the resort was great. Loved Bob Jackson and the beautiful grounds.

We haven't tried any others and are considering Carribean Beach. Would appreciate thoughts on which we should choose??? or possibly Coronado Springs.....????

We are a family of 4 w/two DD's - 13 & 17. Thanks for any help!

We love CBR. The rooms are the largest of all the moderates, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. I have some pictures and comments on my web pages. Click the "family vacations" link below to go to both our May 2001 trip and February 2002 trips, if you'd like to see them.

Happy planning, and have a great trip! :sunny:

I also vote for CBR. The resort is HUGE, and although there are 2112 rooms, it's so spread out that I've never felt like there were too many people around.

It does indeed have the largest rooms of all the moderates. (And with two teenage DD's, I would think that you would want all the room you could get! :teeth:

The only draw back is that it is sooo huge! Some people complain that it's just too far to walk to the main pool and food court. My suggestion would be to request either "Aruba" or "Jamaica". These sections are the closest to the main pool and food court, without actually being considered "preferred" locations (for which you will pay additional costs). The walk will take approximately 5-10 minutes from these "islands" (depending on how fast you walk), and the sights you pass along the way are simply beautiful.

I'm sure that you will get many different opinions, but whatever you choose, I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. Enjoy!

We are big POR formerly Dixie Landings fans. You can just get lost in the atmosphere at POR. The boat ride to DTD is also something that is unique.

I like both resorts. But if you are only going to be their for two nights, I would stay at CBR. The rooms have just been completely redone so they have that new look and feel about them.

I too love both resorts, but if I had to choose, it would be POR. I just love the atmosphere and the "feel" of this resort. I also love the "hidden treasure" boatwrights. This is POR's sit down restaurant and it is fabulous! I can not say the same for the sit down at CBR. Hope this helps! :sunny:
