POR needs additional bldg with food court!

Just got back from POR-Riverside. Room was lovely, clean quiet and the resort itself is stunningly beautiful but for me,,,,too, too large.

We were in Acadian Bldg. IMO, far away from food Court, main bldg, pool, etc.

We were however close to the bus stop which was a plus. I didn't utilize the food court much. Instead we opted to eat in the parks for it was just easier.
I think there should be a satellite mini food court to satisfy the many many guests who are on the outskirts.

I didn't buy refillable mugs for it really wasn't worth it. Too far to get a cup of coffee or soda. We did use food court one morning and although the food was very good, I thought slightly inconvenient.

For instance, if you want toast with your eggs, you have to go to another station. How dumb is that. So we stood in one line for an omelet, another line for our DS waffle and yet a third line for bread which we had to toast ourselves. You pay at the end and then you get a empty cup for coffee.
All this for $34....

For that price, I will sit down and get served.
I think next time will go back to French Quarter or BW which I love the best.
I know there are several thousand POR fans but I found the food court extremely inconvenient.

Also, Boatwrights was always crowded. At 10:30- am was still an hour wait for breakfast. Maybe they should enlarge it or create an additional restaurant. With those crowds in November, it certaintly is warrranted

I'm glad that your overall stay was good. I know that my first stay at POR (DxL at that time) we were about as far back in AB as you could get...about an 8 minute walk to the food court. When we stayed in Magnolia Terrace, it was about 5 minutes to the food court. Usually just one person went to get breakfast while the others got ready when we were there the first time. Then we used the bus stop that was about 2 mins away. When at MT, we all ate at the food court and then used the main bus depot.
We have been lucky at Boatwrights I guess. Ate dinner there and didn't have any wait at all, but it wasn't at 'peak times'. When dd and I were there in June, we wanted to eat there for our last meal, breakfast, before we left. We arrived around 8ish and there was no wait at all. I have seen a lot of people waiting though in the past. I guess I just eat at some peculiar times.
But, at least they have a food court. This is one of my big complaints about the Epcot resorts...especially BW..no food court or any option for a quick, on the run meal. Yes, I own at BWV but I wish they would put in something like the Marketplace at BC/YC.

But I did notice that there were many tables at Boatwrights empty but people still waiting an hour. Maybe there labor force dwindles when college kids go back to school and that might of been the reason. Who knows, can't really figure out wait times anymore.. luck of the draw I say

I agree about POR too, we just stayed there for 2 nights this past week. We were in MT and it just was such a hike to the main building that we only walked that way once. No mugs because it would not have made sense where when we were at POFQ, we were right across the street from the food court and filled 3-4 times a day.

POR was the only one available making ressies the night before I left but if given a choice I think I would pick POP over POR if POFQ wasn't available...

We love Boardwalk and have never noticed finding food to be inconvenient. We get snacks at the Green Door shop, or else those rice krispie treats at the Candy Shop--or some awesome pastry at the bakery--where I also refill the mug. Usually, for a quick lunch we get Spoodles pizza. I think it's the best pizza on property! Reallly good tasting..which I can't say about the pizza inside the parks!

We spend a lot of time at the parks, too...I guess most of the time we'd rather go get fish and chips at Epcot's England or any other of the delicious counter service options rather than go for a counter service meal at the Boardwalk.

There's also some food at the pool bar/ snack area (Flying Libations?), but I've never ordered there. We are always stuffed from our Epcot culinary mainstays

You can always request a guest room nearer to the Food Court if you do decide to go back ever. We liked the food court at POR (DxL to us) but I agree it can be quite a walk, particularly if you have to go back to your room to drop off the mugs before going to a park. WL has the opposite problem; a small snack/counter service eatery that is convenient but way too small with limited offerings. Ah, you just can't win!
