Hi
I was just looking online at pics of AB rooms. We are a family of five and will be using the Murphy bed. When I was looking at the pictures I was a little concerned. My DD8 will be using it but she is used to a queen bed and the Murphy bed looked high from the ground. I know wonder if she will be rolling off of it...

Anyone used these beds?? Is it just the pictures that make them look tiny & high?
Thx

My DD slept on the Murphy bed @ POR after the latest room refurb. She was 10 at the time and was 53" tall. The bed was about the height of the bottom of the other beds mattress, if i had to guess maybe 30" off of the floor? She slept comfortably on it and never fell off but she doesn't roll in her own bed at home. The bed isn't quite as wide as a twin mattress. Maybe you could put pillows on the floor, just in case she rolls off?

Thanks!! I was thinking it may have just been the photo making it looking higher than it was...

Good question. I also thought the murphy bed looked a bit high off the ground in the pictures and I was curious.

Our stay at fort wilderness we rented a cabin, the Murphy bed fits (2)people comfortably the Murphy bed touches the ground there is a boarded part with wood around it that is sturdy the bed is safe and it's not that far off the ground so I would not be worried,Have a magical Vacation

The murphy beds at POR are higher off the floor than the regular beds.

We had intended for our (then) 5yo daughter to use it, but seeing how high it was we made some adjustments so our 10yo would sleep there instead. It is not uncommon for her to fall out of bed at home, and this was significantly higher than she's used to.
