POR: Beer prices?

We need some advice on buying beer for the room at POR, please.

We are flying in and using the Magical Express so we will not have access to a car.
We are sending snacks via Amazon Prime Pantry but they do not include beer and wine.
We have looked and the Garden Grocer and they deliver both beer and wine but seem to be about twice the price of Amazon PP on the snacks we've chosen.

We don't need a lot since we will be "sampling" while away from the resort.

Does anyone know how much a 6-pack of beer or cider is at the POR store?

Thanks

Not sure, but it will be high, and the selection will be limited for 6 packs.

Have you considered using Safeway grocery delivery? They deliver beer and wine, and the prices are in line with grocery store prices. Plus, you may decide to just have them deliver everything, including water if you so desire.

I'm using them next trip, since they just started delivering to Orlando and Disney resorts. I use them at home from time to time, and have used them on vacations to Scottsdale, AZ a couple of times.

I also bought "wine diapers" last trip to bring along rum and vodka for the room. Used them again coming from Mexico last month to bring back some of my many bottles of Cuban rum, which you can now legally bring into the US (but Customs didn't even check, ask, or care or anything and I had 5 bottles). I bought the wine diapers at Amazon, and will use them again next trip for maybe champagne and vodka.

They don't have 6 packs
You can buy 6 individual beers and they are priced as such.
And selection SUCKS! At least from the coolers.
Best thing they had, and it's a stretch to use the word best, is Yeungling.
I actually mailed a 12 pack of cans to us one stay. Most stores have Fat Tire or Sweetwater 420 in 12 pack of cans. And now one of our local brewery's (our friend owns it and we are investors) cans one of their beers so we send it if we need it

AOA and Pop had six packs, so I'm sure all resorts are different. But, the six pack I bought was like, Bud. That was all they had pretty much!

Safeway has a good selection, to avoid wasting time on vacation driving (if I'm there for two weeks, I don't mind, but it's a toss up if it's a week). I mean, you could Uber to a store and back, but by then it's cheaper to order from Safeway probably.

Six packs at the BC Marketplace, Bud and Bud Light were $16 when we were there in January. Fortunately, Speedway was only a short walk away [relatively speaking] and 12 packs were $11.49. Not my number one choice for beers but it is a good pool option!

BC Marketplace does have 6 packs, but I can't speak to the selection. We order snacks, water, fruit, breakfast food, juice, beer & wine from Garden Grocer. It is well worth it.

In our experience, the selection at the resorts is poor and the price is high.

We plan to use Garden Grocer for our upcoming trip. A 12 pack is about $15. We have Amazon prime too but I want to use just one service for everything. We will still come out ahead versus buying stuff at the resort.

And the delivery service sure beats buying it from the gas station across from Disney Springs and carrying it back on the bus. That was our only option years ago!

There is another delivery option but it's name is escaping me. I'll research a bit to find it. Unless someone comes along to recalls. It's new and i think just delivers alcohol

We drive all the time so our beer experience was limited to one time when we were in a lock down because of a hurricane so, of course, we drank a lot of beer during those 24 hours J. Once we were cleared to leave the room, we went to the Pop Century store to get things and one was beer. I think at that time (this was several years ago), it was at least $3/can so our "six pack" cost the same as a case at home. We, um, haven't repeated that mistake since then and always take two cases with us.

Ah, ok. I hadn't ever seen 6 packs at POR but maybe I didn't look hard enough. Since the beers in the coolers are just awful I wouldn't want one anyway. I'm a beer snob and not ashamed to admit it. Life is too short to drink bad beer

Stay at POR now they do sell six packs in the general store. Just ur basic beer brands like other people have said and a 6 pack was $16 I believe. I was able to get a 12 pack for garden grocer for around same price. But they have a minimum order and delivery charges so it might not be worth it if ur sending othere stuff through Amazon.

DH drinks domestic swill (Bud) and got a 6 pack from the gift shop at CBR. It was expensive, but cheaper than beers at the pool bar for drinking in the room.

Boat to Disney Springs, walk over cross over (to off site hotels) .... stop at 1st one -contact Uber - go to supermarket beside BWW ($4-5). Buy all you need or whatever you need. Uber back to POR ($7-10) ... with drop at at your room with your new found loot!

Prob a $15 trip to save you $20-50 depending on liquor, bread, snack, etc

I usually do it at/around lunch and bring wings back to save that meals $ too.

Or just embrace POR for a few cold ones! I do that often too!

Why? Why not call Uber from POR?

The only way I'd pay WDW prices for beer would be if I were just having one or two. Other than that just about any other method should be more cost effective. I've always though there should be a meeting place in the resort lobbies where someone with a car could meet up with other thirsty guests and charge other folks $5 a pop for a run to the liquor store where they'd load up the trunk with booze. Guy with car gets his gas covered, and maybe a passenger would spot the driver a "beverage bonus." :)
