I'd like to hear what you like the most and the least about these two resorts.. Please be as specific as possible about what area you stayed in and if applicable, how you felt about the bus service..

Thanks! :flower:

I've only stayed at POR so I'll tell you about this one.

1. I like the theming of the resort. I like that it has a lot of trees and it's scenic but very relaxed in feel.
2. I stayed in the mansion and I like the decor, not my style but I thought it more suited me than the Alligator Bayou decor. I know I wouldn't have liked that log cabin decor.
3. I like the pool, it was nice but a bit hard when you have a toddler and a young child because of the way it's shaped, it's a tad hard to contain the 2. Just from my perspective. Otherwise the pool is great, albeit a bit small. The hottub was crowded, always, which is a bit annoying.
4. I like the food court, big and plenty of seats. Plenty of things to choose from.
5. I didn't like the bus system. Sometimes you share a bus with POFQ and POFQ gets picked up first, then it goes to the main bus stop first, then goes around the entire complex to 3 more stops. If you got Parterre Place, you could be the last one to be picked up which means on crowded days, you might not even get a spot because the bus is already full.
6. I didn't like the distance between the mansions/AB and the food court. Every time I had to refill my mug, by the time I got back to the mansions, the drink was gone. I didn't feel like I could just do a quick hop step to the food court and be right back.
7. I like the quiet pools and the fact that the laundry is right next to the pool.

I have only stayed at the BWI

*love this resort pretty small- the Inn side, great quite pool, the best atmpohere being the boardwalk! can see fireworkd, and maybe from room
*have always had great bus service...only needed for the MK, and AK DTD thou, unless to MK you take monorail from Epcot
*walk to epcot or MGM
* great night life, even just walking around boardwalk or riding the boats

I could go on and on!
* nice big rooms!

We've stayed at PORS and Board Walk Villas. Bus service was about the same at each. Depending where your room is, you could have a long walk. Without a doubt, the pools at POR are better! Why? At POR you get 2 theme pools and a quiet pool near your room. The theme pools at POR are great. My 11 year old chooses to stay at POR over any other resort. Why? He loves the waterslide at POR the best. He enjoys the fishing. We all love the boat ride to DTD. We all like the selection of food at the food court. We like the nightly entertainment Wed - Sat. I enjoy walking around the resort in the morning.

In my opinion, the only edge that the BWI has against POR is the location. It is so convenient to walk or take a boat to Epcot and MGM.

The only downside, in my opinion of staying at the Boardwalk---no food court

I have only been to Boardwalk
alot to do there
good night life
we used our car so i didnt use the buses
easy access to epcot
i was very impressed good CM's

I can tell you about the BWI. Haven't stayed at POR.

Pros:
*beautifully decorated spacious rooms
*elegant feel to this resort
*small, so not a long walk to anything within the Inn
*many standard rooms overlook the center courtyard filled with flowering trees and roses
*the great pool with the keister coaster slide
*the Belleview lounge where you can get a few items a la carte in the am before rushing out to the parks or later on in the day you can relax, have a drink or play a board game in here
*the boardwalk itself with the performers like an old time carnival in the pm
*ESPN restaurant (DH &DS made me put that!)
*so many restaurants to choose from around the boardwalk
*the surrey bikes to rent and ride around Crescent Lake
*walk to Epcot
*walk to MGM
*friendship boats if you are tired or too hot to walk

Cons:
???
I can't think of any! This is my family's favorite resort!

I haven't stayed at either one, but have visited both. (Have stayed at POFQ and Boardwalk Villas)

POR Like
Boat Ride to Downtown Disney
Food Court

POR Dislike
Spread Out
Multiple Bus Stops
As Previous Poster Stated, if you go to the food court for breakfast, then leave straight for parks, you get a bus ride all the way around the resort with multiple stops.

Boardwalk Inn Likes
Small Size
Direct Access to Epcot and Studios by Walkway

Boardwalk Inn Dislikes
No Food Court
I like a quick breakfast in the morning on the way to the parks (bagel, banana, juice)
Bus stops at other Epcot area resorts on the way to the parks or Downtown Disney.

But you can get a quick bite like that in the Belleview Lounge. They have coffee, tea, juice, bagels, muffins, some fruit and cereal for sale a la carte. We ate here a few times when we wanted something fast. Not a food court, but it met our needs.

We stayed at both and what we liked:

POR
--nice large food court
--beautiful grounds
--rode bikes around and that was fun
--two themed pools (one at POFQ and one at POR)

Boardwalk
--BEST: Walking to Epcot and MGM!!!!!!
--The pool is cute (looks like a roller coaster)
--Night time entertainment on the Boardwalk (the kids loved it)

If I had to pick, I would pick Boardwalk just because of the easy walk over to Epcot and MGM.....BUT.....we love POR and even spent a day just hanging out there riding bikes and swimming. Both are nice, and frankly, what we are trying to do is to give each resort a try! We think that is part of the fun of going to Disney! Our next NEW resort will be CBR!
