POR and Beach Club mid December?

We will be staying at POR (never stayed there, last of mods on list to do) and BC 11-17 December. Plan is for 2 nights at POR then 4 at BC. It has been several years since last visit to BC and with no experience at POR does anyone have some tips?

To get 2 very different theme experiences, I recommend staying in the AB section of POR & requesting bldgs 14 & 27 - they are close to everything & if you have a standard view, 27 is surrounded by landscaping, the river & other AB's, so no chance of a parking lot view. POR is very pretty during the holidays - we've stayed there 3 times in Dec. & never been disappointed - the hot tub is large, the food court has many choices & you can walk right up & refill your mug (unlike the BC). Make sure you take advantage of the boat to DD! We'll be @ the BC 12/16-19 & then WL 12/19-23!

We love the boatride to DD. A few times during December we had the boat all to ourselves. It can be a little cold but hey it is December!
