Popularity of Winnie the Pooh Ride

On my last several visits to WDW, I noticed that Winnie the Pooh at MK generally does not have a long wait. I think that it's a great ride, perfect for all ages, and very high on the charm factor. Why aren't more people queuing for this ride?

I've always found the line steady at WP. It moves pretty quickly so maybe that's why? Even though our daughter is 12, I still like to ride this ride at least twice on our visits.

I think the ride is more appealing to the toddler/pre-school set. I can't see my 15 year old son getting on it or any of his friends. However, I do agree that it is a cute attraction and the details are very nice.

I think you were just lucky in your timing. Pooh often has a long wait. We usually do it as one of our first 3 Fantasyland rides at rope drop, or use Fast Pass. It actually is quite popular.

I agree WP is a fantastic ride, but I think it somewhat suffers resentment from Die-hards because it replaced Mr Toad.

The line has been long-ish when I've been there too. I don't really care for it, and will skip it if the wait is more than 10 minutes or so.

we enjoy Pooh -- and our party is always all grown-ups. It's kind of like the Peter Pan ride...not "all that" when judged purely from the "ride" stand-point but the nostalgia & charm factors are really high. Just a very pleasant reminder of childhood friends...

I love the Winnie the Pooh ride! I've never waited very long for it. I remember the first time I went on it, I didn't even know it was there. We were traveling with my whole family and my husband and I had just been married for about 10 months. It was raining one night during Spectro and the park was not crowded at all. After the parade we wandered toward Tomorrowland and lo and behold, we found Pooh. We were the only two people on the ride and we rode twice back to back. Imagine the Pooh ride being romantic?! Who would have thunk it? Now that we have a daughter it takes on new meaning, but it will always hold a special place in my heart!

Usually when we're there it seems to have one of the longer lines. Of the Fantasyland rides, I'd say Peter Pan tends to have the longest wait, followed by Dumbo, then Pooh would come in third. But as someone said, the line for Pooh does move fairly quickly. Dumbo's line is understandable given the kind of ride it is (same reason Astro Orbiter's line always seems so long), but I can never figure out why Peter Pan always has such a huge line. It seems like they should move quickly given the constant loading of riders.

Pooh ride has Fast Pass & I have never waited more than about 10 minutes using Fast Pass. I have seen wait times up to 1.5 hours for this ride on stand-by.

I agree with this comment. Just the thought of 'Winnie the Pooh' makes me think of nursery school. And once you get sight of those huge honey pots, it's almost like...um...do I want people to see me riding Winnie The Pooh or should I just skip. Even so, I've ridden W.T.P. and it's such a cute ride!! I love how the honeypot sways in the flood scene and hops with the Tigger scenes. It's done SO nicely! Love it.

We like WTP ride as well, although we didnt ride during some of our past visits. Our kids have gotten a little older and this ride clearly wasnt on the cool list !!.
We rode again in April just because we havent in a while and the kids (even DS 17) enjoyed the ride, I think it brought back some fun memories from their "childhood"

One interesting dynamic at WDW is adults can ride any ride, any time. DW and I think nothing about getting in the teacups or WTP and going for a spin while laughing like kids.....and its normal. I dont think I would do that at the local Six Flags and not feel like everyone was looking at us

almost 23 yrs old here, never a pooh fan as a child... but i get on this ride every time. Mostly because the visual effects in it are wonderful!

We don't like Pooh or most of the WTP characters (a couple of exceptions). Just not our pot-o-honey.

I wish saw a line like you did! That line is always long and fast passes are gone early on in the day. I love Winnie-the-Pooh ride!!!

You must travel at different times than I do! We always hit this ride early as it gets really long line starting mid-morning.

I noticed that the Winnie the Pooh ride and the Peter Pan's Flight are the two most popular and longest wait when I go - fifteen minutes on most rides when those two rides are normally 30 - 35 minutes.

I think it is two things; first is the size of the car, i.e. two for PPF and four at the most with WTP. You often see two to three on WTP.

Also, the fast pass line fills up really, really quick on WTP, while they are still trying to queue up the regular long line. That is one of the few places where I have seen them load FP as well as SB at the same pace - I have seen people who are as far back on the FP line as I am on SB and we both get up there are the same time.

You must have went during an off time. On our visit this past June, the lines were long for Pooh, and we always pull FPs if we can't ride it first thing in the morning.

Our next trip is more of an off-time, so we are hoping to be able to stand in more ques, and yes, do the Pooh ride several times.

I was a Fantasyland CM on my CP in 2003 and Pooh always seemed to have a huge line. Sometimes upwards of 120min. Guests would wait in line for it and upon exiting would complain to no end how it wasn't worth the wait. I don't know what they were expecting? Winnie the Pooh roller coaster?

I've seen the line stay pretty steady. It's usually a 20 to 30 min. wait any time I've seen it but I'm sure there are parts of the day when the line is shorter.
