Popular DLR food to-go?

Does anyone know how accommodating table service restaurants are with To-Go orders?

For example, I was hoping to try the biscuits at Carthay Circle but I don't think we will be able to have a full meal there. I'd also love to try the lobster nachos at the Cove bar without waiting for a table. Or maybe even the fried green tomato sandwich from Cafe Orleans?

I'm imagining picking up these snacks on our way back to DLH for our daughters nap time.

Thanks DISers!

Good question. I am pretty sure the answer is they will not do to go food as table service resteraunts. But on a positive note, you will be close to the Tiki Bar at DLH!

Just got off the phone with Disney Dining: (714) 781-3463 as I had other questions.
Cm stated you need to show up and eat there. No "to-go" service.

In order to get a to-go meal from a TS restaurant, you will have to be seated at a table and place your order. (So you would be using a table that someone else who would eat-in could use.) Make sure your server knows you want the food to be packed in to-go containers, You will still pay the same bill as a you would for a non-to-go meal (so no discount for taking the food out) and be expected to tip the server fully as you would if you had eaten the meal at the restaurant. You can understand why Disney doesn't encourage this practice of take out from TS places.

I'm sure everyone would love to try popular items (like Lobster Nachos) without waiting for a table. Sadly it's not gonna happen!

From a revenue point of view, I'm not sure why not. Having worked in restaurants for years, to go orders are a great way to increase revenue while devoting a lower number of staff and seating space to same. It may be that Disney doesn't have procedures in place to handle to go orders at TS, but revenue-wise, most places see to go orders as a good thing.

Especially considering how difficult it can be to get a table, I wish they were more accommodating with to-go orders, too!

Unfortunately, the only way to get food to-go is to get a table order and then ask for it to be packaged to go.
