I'm about to start this because if I don't get it all in one place, my head will absolutely explode!!!

Let me introduce my family, then I can start collecting all of my information off of my zillions of papers into one (organized!! HA!) place!!

We are:
Me (Sherri)-a self proclaimed disney "nut". My family thinks I'm wacky for planning all of the details, but the reality is that they appreciate how fun their vacation is because of it! I'm okay with that.

My DH (Todd) - I don't think he admits to himself just how much of a Disney dad he is. Just when I think we won't be planning a trip for the next year, he jumps in and says..."well, if YOU want to". HA! I know if I'm sure to plan lots of time at Epcot, I've won his heart :)

My older daughter Leah(6) - This child remembers details from her first trip to the World (she was 19 months old) and it scares me! She's tall for her age and has been riding some of the fun stuff for a couple of years. If only I could convince her to get on ToT!! If you ask her what her favorite part of Disney is...besides Test Track, she'll tell you the apple danishes at Pop Century.

My younger daughter Kara (4) - Her first visit to see the Mouse was at 5 months old, and she was hooked (I'm sure of it!). She loves the princesses, of course, like her sister, and can't wait to ride in "Mickey's Big Ball" again. Epcot seems to be a favorite for more than just dad :)

A bit of background: We've been lucky enough to head to Disney every year since 2004. One year we even got to go twice! Our usual is in September for free dining (the once extra was near Christmas, which was a neat change). Now that the girls are starting to get older, we'll see how long it lasts...the taking them out of school thing. So far, our school is absolutely fine with such things. And, we have a decent student, so that helps. I know that at some point it might change, so we'll enjoy it while we can!

We don't mind the heat and humidity, nor the rain showers. We've lucked out (mostly) with hurricanes, and have only had to cut one trip ONE day short! Thank heavens. Even the love bugs don't seem so bad when you're in the happiest place on earth.

Our trip in '04 was the only one that we didn't bring others along with us. We've been able to bring the grandparents a few times, which the girls love. There have been some friend trips, a retirement trip (an army friend), a trip with our new next door neighbors, and now this year we will have one of my best friends and her family along for the ride! We've been talking about doing this trip since our first daughters were born (her girls are the same age as my girls, and they have a one year old). I'm sooooooo excited!!! We also have some old (and very good friends) who will be there at the same time as us (a different resort) who we will be spending a good bit of time with as well.

A couple of pics from last year's trip so that you can put faces to the names:

Oh yeah. Did I mention that we're one of "those" matching t-shirt (sometimes) families? It's just so much fun making them! I'm hooked!
I'm not crazy, though...we do reuse the ones that still fit :)

Okay. I'm not even sure how or where I'm going with this. So, I guess I'll just talk out some of my ideas on here. Organize some things. Post some links to the fun stuff that I'm still learning about. And hope that even if it's not intersting to anyone else, it will help me keep it all together and make a great vacation!

After the introductions come the details. Here is our trip.

We're staying at POP. The girls woudn't have it any other way (and it allows us to take those yearly trips!).

We booked this trip last year during our Sept trip through the bounceback offer. It will include free dining (which we LOVE...it really allows us dining that we otherwise wouldn't do).

We'll be there from Sept 25-Oct 3, which is our longest trip yet! We're flying in late on Friday (leaving after school) and not wasting Saturday as a travel day. That means that Leah will miss 4 days of 1st grade (there is a teacher day that week), and Kara will miss 3 days of preschool. I won't know for a while if we'll have any fun school projects to do, but we've done them in the past and don't mind at all! We'll be leaving midday Saturday to return home.

While at Pop, we'll be a part of a Pay it Forward swap and I can't wait! Check out our link:
Pay it Forward Swap at the POP

My best friend's familly will arrive Saturday evening and will also be staying at Pop (hopefully right beside us!).

Our other friends are staying at POR and will arrive midday Sunday.

I have a rough plan and have ADRs scheduled. I'll post those in a bit (when I can find the papers in my pile!). There's so much I have in my head that I can't even think straight!! Is it Sept yet???????!!!!! :woohoo:

So, I had mixed feelings about the fact that ADRs changed from 180 to 90 days. On the one hand, there would be a better chance to plan the best days at the parks by seeing the hours first (I'm also a TGM'er). On the other, no big jump on the people who aren't on top of things that early.

I spent some time coming up with my master plan and then, after input from the girls (Chef Mickey's and Teppan Edo....they were also pushing for the Biergarten), I came up with my wish list:

Sept 26 - Boma (4) 5-6ish
Sept 27 - Ohana (11) 5-6ish (the scariest one!)
Sept 28 - Raglan Road (11) 6:30ish
Sept 29 - Le Cellier (9) anytime dinner first choice, lunch 2nd (scary too!)
Sept 30 - Boma (6) 10:30 ish
- Chef Mickey's (4) 6ish
Oct 1 - CRT (9) anytime breakfast or lunch (fingers crossed since it's late in the week)
Oct 2 - Teppan Edo (11) 5-6ish

We've NEVER been to Boma. I've heard such great things, and I really really want to check out AKL. It's my dream resort without even having been there!! I just can't bring myself to stay there because it would mean a couple of years that we couldn't go back, we'd break the budget in a HUGE way! Someday, though!! Since it'll be just the 4 of us, we thought it would be fun to plan an AK day and head over there for dinner.

We did Ohana a couple of years ago when we went in early Dec. We loved it, but the girls weren't very old at the time (Kara actually slept through dinner!). Leah remembers the view of the castle, and we remember the yummy food! We thought it might be fun to do with the whole group of us, since everyone will have arrived by then.

Raglan Road is a favorite since we went there last year. I was hesitant, but Todd LOVES the whole "Irish Pub" thing. He was right on with this one, and it's a new favorite in DTD!

Since Le Cellier is all the craze, and we've never tried it, we figured that if we could luck into a reservation there, we would give it a shot! I'm nervous that it won't live up to the hype, but hopeful at the same time. Actually, why do I suddenly want a big juicy STEAK??? ;)

Our friends asked us if we'd like to do Boma for a late breakfast one morning, and we're looking forward to a second shot at it. We aren't typically a breakfast family (half of us do not like eggs!), but it's always nice to be with old friends!

Chef Mickey's has become a family tradition for us (like many). We have gone there every time we've done Disney with the girls, and I love having the pics of them with the characters as they grow! I really need to dig up some of the old photos (on my other computer) and post them! So much fun to look back.

CRT. What can I say? A dream come true for my two princess lovers (at least I think so, THEY DON"T KNOW ABOUT THIS ONE YET!!) and their mom! I really want to find a fun way to surprise them (and invite from Cinderella?!?!). I can't wait till the day of, though, because their little girlfriends already know, and i'm afraid they'll blow the secret without even realizing it!

My girls fell in love with Teppan Edo when it was Teppanyaki! We've been there a few times now, and no one wants to give it up quite yet. We thought it would be a fun way to end our week, with the whole gang again.

I faithfully woke up early 90 days out. I booked the ones that I could (less than 11 people) online and then called right at 7, talked to a CM pretty quickly, and finished up. Overall, we're thrilled with the results:

Sept 26 - Boma (4) 5-6ish GOT 4:50
Sept 27 - Ohana (11) 5-6ish (the scariest one!) GOT Crystal Palace (11) 7:00
Sept 28 - Raglan Road (11) 6:30ish GOT 6:15
Sept 29 - Le Cellier (9) anytime dinner first choice, lunch 2nd (scary too!) GOT 12:15
Sept 30 - Boma (6) 10:30 ish GOT 10:35
- Chef Mickey's (4) 6ish GOT 6:20
Oct 1 - CRT (9) anytime breakfast or lunch (fingers crossed since it's late in the week) GOT 12:55
Oct 2 - Teppan Edo (11) 5-6ish GOT 6:30

We'll see what we can do about switching to Ohana on the 27th over the next few weeks. If not, we're totally okay with our second choice :)

Something super fun that a wonderful DISer put together for those of us going in Sept: a Master list of ADRs!!

I'm going to have to look up some of the folks near us!! HOW FUN!

Hi! I'm up waaayy too late and just decided to see what PTRs were out there now and here you are. I'm first to sign on with you:thumbsup2. I noticed that we will be there at the same time and even better we live pretty close to eachother. We are 2-2 1/2 hours from St. Louis. Just thought that was pretty cool.
You are off to a great start. Your daughter's are adorable. I really like the mickey head design on your lime green shirts and don't believe I've seen it before. I am assuming you got it from someone on the disign thread here? I also like the way you did the tie die shirts.
Well, I need to go to bed but wanted to say hi and couldn't resist being the first one here. Can't wait for more.

Thanks for signing on! I'm not as colorful and fun as some on here, but I really think it will do me well to keep track of things in one place. Hopefully, it'll be interesting ENOUGH for you to stay .

As for the shirts, they are actually the only set that I bought! Found them online at the Disney store a couple of years back when they were cheap :) But, I'm sure someone has got to have something close to it on DISign...i'll keep my eyes open for you!

Funny that you jumped in here, when I was reading your PTR last night. I wasn't really in much of a chatty mood, so i didn't write (and i tend to be more of a lurker), but I'll have to pop over there and say hello!

Cool that you're from close to here. We actually just moved to the midwest two years ago. Todd and I are both originally from PA and most recently spent 10 years just outside of Washington DC in Northern VA. Quite a change for us to come here, but we're learning to like it. :)

Okay....off to read some stuff and then see if I can find those pics from Chef Mickey's. Maybe even add some more stuff to my PTR....but I'm kinda pooped. We're getting ready to take a trip back east, and I've been crazy busy!

Okay, well. I found some old pics and thought that I would share.

Well, that was fun to look back! Glad I did that. I realized even more how much fun it will be on our first day this year, JUST THE FOUR OF US!! It seems we always travel with lots of folks (which does make it waaaay fun).

But, now I'm too tired to add more about this year! HA!

Well, I'm not doing much on the PTR right now, since we're on a vacation back East visiting with family. However, I just had to pop in and say that I got my Disney fix today at the Rockvale outlets in Lancaster, PA at the DISNEY STORE :goodvibes

I grabbed a couple of cute things to use for my tinkerbell presents (more on those later), and also an adorable outfit for friends of ours who just had a new baby girl.

My MIL bought the girls some cute new nighties!

Cool thing is that all of it was 25% off :thumbsup2

Just signing on to say I'm here! Your ADRs look great, we love Boma! So many great things to taste and try! My favorite is the Mulligatawny Soup! Yum!
Love your tie dye Mickey shirts too!:thumbsup2

Fun that you are traveling with friends, the more the merrier right?

Even though I'm on vacation, I can't stop thinking about this trip (sound familiar?) :cool1: So, I decided that I needed to jump on and find something to talk about ;)

I had been wondering what to do about SHOES for this trip. In the past, I've been a sneaker girl. BUT, I really don't like how miserable that can make one in those lovely Florida afternoon showers. WET feet are UNHAPPY feet!! So, I set out to finding some kind of sandle-y type shoes just for the parks. I'm a flip flop gal, however, they don't really work so well for me miles at a time.

I came across a few threads here on the DIS where people were RAVING about Tevas. There are those who choose Crocs, but I've BTDT and they gave me blisters. Folks are also talking about Keens a lot as well. After reading all the reviews, I decided to hit sierratradingpost and check it out. Well. I found Teva Terra-FI 2 sandals (retail around 70-80 bucks) on sale for LESS THAN 30!! I decided to go for it, and threw in a pair of Teva mush flip flops for good measure. I ordered them through Sunshine Rewards (my favorite rewards site!!) and got another 4 or so percent back that way....so I had two new pair of shoes coming (including shipping) for less than $50 :goodvibes

I ordered them a couple of days before we came back east and had them shipped to my mom's house. They arrived 5 calendars later and I had a chance to try them out! WOOOHOOOOOOO!!:thumbsup2:banana: Everyone was right about the mush flip flops, for sure! I'm LOVING how comfortable they are so far!! I have yet to do anything in the Terra-FI 2's, but they feel great on my feet, and I LOVE that they are adjustable in three different places. They both have arch support and a comfy foot bed. I'm totally psyched!

Now, I also ordered my girls each a pair of the mush flip flops from REI (the colors/sizes they had available at sierra weren't working out so well). They were right around $10 a pair (shipped free to an REI store near you!). So, when we are back in MO at the beginning of August, we'll grab those and see what the girls think! I'm betting this will be a good thing. You see, my older daughter has very sensitive EVERYTHING and gets blisters very easily. So, I'm hoping this will help.

The other thing I plan on grabbing from REI is some BODYGLIDE. It comes highly recommended around these parts, and that's enough for me!!

Allyson

Thanks for jumping onboard Allyson. I'll have to check out your links in your siggie when I have a bit of time (can you say when the girls are in bed?)!

I'm glad to hear that you have good thoughts on Boma. I really can't wait for that one!

Yes, traveling with friends is wonderful in the end. We really wouldn't have it any other way :)

Subbing! You are doing a great job! I love the shirts, we are going to try to do the matching shirt thing once this time, but I love putting my 2 boys in matching outfits, poor boys!

I need to find those kind of shoe deals! I am looking for Teva Mush Flip Flops the wedge ones but I can't pick a color!

I hope you get the O'hana ressie you are wanting. The rest of your ADR's look wonderful, good job!

Love the pictures

Good call on the multiple shoes. I was there last August during Fay and it was crucial to have a few pairs to switch out. Wet feet can rub in the worst way! I have a pair of Sketcher flip flops that I love! They just broke and I quickly ordered this year's model and thankfully they feel just as nice. I'll be bringing some Nike flip flops, Crocs and Lands End Water Sneakers as well. I will have to look for the Tevas you mentioned, I'm always up for a new sandal. I live in them as long as I can, at least until my toes get too cold in the New England fall weather!

Moleskin is another nice thing to have packed, just in case a blister starts.

Allyson :)

Enjoying your PTR! Will check back later!

Thanks for stopping in! I'm totally loving your pre-trippie!!

Thanks for the encouragement. Like I said...I'm not some amazing writer, but I'm finding that this helps me have some fun and think about things! I've never done the pre-trip report thing, but I'm enjoying it!

Thanks Allyson. You're right about wet feet! I'm hoping that I've found a good solution to not having wet soggy sneaks. Water sneakers are a great thought, too. And, yes! Moleskin was a lifesavers when my crocs were digging into the top of my foot. An absolute must on my packing list now!!

So, I'm doing the more relaxing part of my vacation now (my mom's house) and have a bit of time to PLAN MORE :)

I realized that I hadn't mentioned our itinerary yet (except for to talk about our ADRs). As it is always good to have that in a place that I can't lose (cuz I can lose anything!), here it is:

Fri 25th - travel to the World

We're leaving for the airport after school (well, about 1/2 hour before "after school"). We decided that we didn't want to waste Saturday as a travel day! So, we arrive at MCO around 9pm. I still need to figure out if we'll need to grab our own luggage or what since we're getting there a bit late. We'll take DME to Pop, get settled in and TRY to get some sleep!!

Sat 26th - up late
AK
Boma dinner @ 4:50

AK is our family's least favorite park. I KNOW, I KNOW, it's NOT a zoo...however, we live in St. Louis where there is an AMAZING zoo, and Grant's Farm (an animal preserve type place). We lived near Washington DC for 10 years where there is an AMAZING zoo...you get the idea. There are a few things that we want to do here. We haven't seen Nemo, want to do the Maharaja jungle trek, maybe convince the girls to go on Everest (DD6 has but not DD4 yet). If we feel like getting wet, we'll do the rapids. We may try to catch the Lion King show again. None of us care much about the safari ride :confused3 Guess we're a bit odd...okay, well, more than a bit!

We'll take a bus over to AKL (again, my DREAM resort-although I've never been there! HA!). We'll do dinner, explore then head back to Pop. I need to figure out our quickest route back (through AK? It closes at 5). Our friends (with their girls ages 6, 4 and 18 months) arrive that evening, so I'm sure it will be swimming and to bed!

This was our only chance to see Spectro. We DO LOVE this parade, but, since we want to do RD tomorrow, there's a strong chance we're skipping it this trip!

Sun 27th - Rope Drop MK
Dinner, Crystal Palace @ 7:00 (with friends)
Wishes @ 8, if we get out there in time

We are park people. We stay all day. Even when the girls were little, they just napped in their strollers. It's what works for our family, and we love it! The girls are excited about seeing the park opening show (we've done it once and they watch the video all the time).

Lunch will be counter service. Somehow we almost always end up at Cosmic Rays (love that 1/2 chicken for DH and I to share!).

We're still hoping for a ressie for Ohanna this night, but I'm not holding my breath. It's okay. We haven't been to CP as a family, and the only time I was there was before the kids were born for breakfast. We're excited!

Mon 28th - Rope Drop DHS
Dinner, Raglan Road @ 6:15 (with friends)
DH - EMH @ Epcot ??

There's no getting away with not doing RD here. We want Toy Story Mania AT LEAST ONCE (hopefully twice!). We'll be grabbing fast passes and riding right away, we hope!

We don't really need to spend a lot of time here either. Not our favorite for a long day. We'll do ToT (girls maybe for the first time) and RnRC (most likely just DH and I). We'll maybe still hit Playhouse Disney for the little one. We'd also like to do the Voyage of the Little Mermaid (since we haven't before). The girls said they're skipping Beauty and the Beast, and we don't care much for the stunt shows. Tired of the Backlot Tour as well. We may play at the play place a bit (Honey I shrunk the kids?). I'm going to look into one or two other things that we haven't done.

Lunch will be counter service (not sure where...not thrilled about any of them!).

Depending on when we feel finished, we'll head back to Pop for a break, or else straight to DTD. Our other friends arrive this afternoon, so EVERYONE is eating together tonight (11 of us!!). We'll hang out a DTD and check out some of our favorite stuff (Goofy's candy shop, Lego store, etc).

The girls and I are heading back to POP, but DH may head over to Epcot for EMH with the other grown ups. He LOVES the park at night, and since they won't really care much about riding things, they may enjoy hanging out.

To be Continued.......

Tues Sept 29
up late
Epcot all day!!
Lunch @ Le Cellier 12:15 (6 of us)
Illuminations @ 9

Epcot is our favorite favorite favorite!! This is going to be the day that my family will be waiting for!! We all love every bit of it. It makes me jumpy just to think about it....Soarin', Test Track, Mickey's Big Ball, Figment, Nemo, oh the list goes on and on!!

The girls are also huge fans of the World Showcase and all of the things they can do there. The really enjoy the shows (Japan-drummers and the Candy Lady, pick a pearl, the Chinese Acrobats, the plays in the streets) and making their masks. They know now where all the Kidcot stops are and can lead us there...they love remembering! This year we can't wait to do the Kimpossible Missions!! How fun!

We've also decided that rather than do the passports (which sit around a bit like the autograph books), we're thinking of a t-shirt for Epcot to be signed. It would be one of the "around the world" designs, and we would have the CMs from the countries sign the shirt...then we could wear it on our last day, which will also be at Epcot, and we'll have another great souvenier!! We love speaking with the CMs at the kidcot stops (the girls practice saying hello in other languages), and this will make it even more fun, we hope!!

I think at least one of our friends (maybe two) will be diving at the Seas this day as well! It will be fun for the girls to see him in the "big fish tank"!

Wed Sept 30th
REST DAY
Boma@ 10:35 (6 of us)
Chef Mickey's @ 6:20 (just the four of us!)

Only our ADRs are planned for today. We aren't really breakfast people, but our good friends invited us to do this as a brunch with them. DH really can't stand that most breakfasts are centered around eggs (he can't stand them), so a buffet will help a lot with that. We'll probably pay for this one OOP, since we have one more ADR than dining credits.

Then, we'll let the day take us where it will...maybe swimming at Pop, maybe boating at one of the resorts, who knows! There are so many possibilities! All I know is that it's good for us, since we kind of GO GO GO to take a day of doing nothing too strenuous somewhere in the middle so that everyone can stay happy :)

Thurs Oct 1
MK morning
CRT 12:55 (9 of us...it's a surprise for the girls!!)
Open evening...EPCOT? Boardwalk??

So we get to spend this morning doing anything we missed our first day at MK and/or all of our favorites that we want to do again. There are morning EMH, but I dont' think we'll be getting there *quite* that early. Probably by 9, but not 8. Besides, we'll have seen the opening (hopefully) on our other MK day, and the last time we were at MK EMH, they only played the opening soundtrack, they didn't actually "do" it.

Tinkerbell will have delivered the girls invitation to lunch at the castle earlier in the week, so by now they will hopefully be looking forward to this meal!! I can't wait to eat in the castle...not for the food, but for the atmostphere.

The evening is pretty much not planned. It's mostly a given that we'll end up at Epcot, cuz that's what we do :) If we haven't been to the boardwalk before now, we'll spend some time there this evening....maybe head back early for a swim? Or, take a swim after lunch and then change and head back out.

Fri Oct 2
Our last full day....EPCOT!!
Dinner - Teppan Edo @ 6:30 (all of us!! one last hurrah!)
Illuminations @ 9

Nothing much to add here. We'll most likely spend our last day getting out a bit late, but heading over to Epcot to finish up any countries that we haven't see or F&W fest stuff we haven't tried that we really want to. OOOH! Have you SEEN the stuff that will be there?!?!?!

FOOD and WINE FEST STUFF!!

Illuminations will end our no doubt fabulous week!!

Sat Oct 3
BOO HOO! Time to go home

Nothing to much going on this day. We'll be swimming, saying goodbye to friends, and heading to the airport on ME mid-day. We'll be home and sad by evening...dreaming of the countdown until our next trip!!

We're tired of autograph books. We've done them. Twice. They lay around and never get looked at. Thanks to the creative folks on the disboard, we've discovered the idea of autographed pillow cases!! We're all very excited!! What a super way to remember your trip and have a souvenier that is useful and will be talked about for a long time to come!!

I think I've decided that we'll used fabric pens (need to get a 40% off coupon and head to Hobby Lobby). I need to have the girls pick out the colors of pillow cases they want to use (I'm loving the softness of bamboo...wonder if they would work with the transfers??).

So far, the image that I've found that we like the most is this one by the Dis's own millipie !

SweetDreamsMickey.jpg

I'm considering putting it on the corner of the pillowcase (so the girls wouldn't actually SLEEP on the transfer).

The good news is that we'll have an easy get of Mickey and the gang, and Pooh and the gang and the princesses at Character meals!! Anything else can just be gravy :)

ETA: OOOOH! I also found out that Milliepie did some awesome name images, so I went and asked her to do these for the pillowcases, as well!!! They'll be small and in another corner, or along the edge somehow....
