POP'ers who have bonded - (new home!)

Alright - WHERE is he getting deployed to?

Im getting sad for her. :guilty:

TIA - you should tell REBECCA about ChaCha. It would be so very ideal for her.

WOuldnt it be a blast if all you guys are on a team - minus me of course. :headache:
I am sad for her too because I KNOW exactly what she is going through. He will be going to someplace in Africa. The other sucky thing is he will be shipping out when we were going to WDW so she has to cancel. :sad1: I am SO flipping bummed. She is stressing out because the dates are so up in the air and he has to go to school and they won't say when. Poor girl.

I am still shocked you wer denied. I took a long time on some of my questions too. Could you try under your hubby's name? :wizard:
Oh - cuz Im bitter cuz I was DEnied!! No thanks...we dont want ya!!! :sad2:

Most likely due to a question I got during the simulator test which asked:

"What does Dr Joyce Brothers say the avergae woman will do 79 times, before marrying"

I spent waaaay too long on it, and never did find a good answer. So, IMO the woman is a quack. Because after 3 days of searching, someone finally found out it 'kiss'. Whatever. And she ruined my stinking ChaCha job. Skank. :p

But if you do sign up, you should do it under Tia's name. She'll get .02 cents off every question you answer too. :)

That was a horrible question. I think I got one that took me forever too. Did you e-mail them?
I was gonna do it while I was at work, too.... I figured Im on here DIS'n, why not lose the DIS, and get paid to mess around all day online, in addition to my paycheck - and Dr Joyce ruined that for me. ARGH! ;)

Okay, I got ahold of Lori...I think we are meeting up today. She lives 60 seconds from the playground I've taken DD to twice already! So we are going to meet there. Hopefully she checks her email though to confirm.

Tia--can you text her to check it or let her know I'll see her today or something like that?

And, the back button thing didn't work with your email address adding, so I reapplied under another email address...I'll just have to ignore any responses to the first email. (I had already hit submit by accident when I meant to wait, and then hit back real quick, but I guess it was too late). How many responses do you normally do in an hour? I'd be so cool with $5 an hour...that'd be $25 a week probably.

And CAT, I searched for that question for about 10 minutes...and I"m a good searcher! I couldn't find it anywhere.

He is currently waiting to see the results from his test he took last night. :rolleyes1

Oh man! Poor Lori. :sad2:

You should move your trip up - come with us.

K, I sent her a text! :) That is so neat you are so close. I wish I was there! It is going to be about 107 here today. HOT! Plus like 50% humdity.
Last night I could not sleep so I ChaChaed and it was crazy busy. I was off and on yesterday and made about 20 bucks. Not too shabby.

Oh I hope "he" passes. Yeah I thought about moving it, but Terry really wants to go to Halloween Horror Nights, so we will probably keep it status quo. Unless we decide to push it off until later.

$20 is totally not too shabby. I'm just looking for some date night money. I think its important for DH and I to start dating again...we never go anywhere without DD. So if you figure $30 for the activity plus $20 for the babysitter, that's $50. So if I can earn $25 a week, we can do a date night every other week.

I still haven't received a confirmation text or call from Lori. And we are supposed to meet in an hour. I hope it still works out.

So I found this other WAH thing that fits me perfectly. It involves writing articles on topics and receiving payment based on the number of reads the article gets. I like it because its the gift that keeps on giving. As long as the content is not time sensitive, people could still be reading it in 5 years. Since I was a reporter...the article thing works. So I started writing. Then I remembered. I hate writing. Its real work.

hmm, shouldn't you be telling all your friends when you write something???????:3dglasses

hey everyone....hotter than hades here today....

I forgot to tell you guys, I went to orientation on Monday for my new job...did you know that OSHA hospital guidelines haven't changed a whole lot since the LAST time i went thru a hospital orientation 20 yrs ago!!!

Not sure when I'll be getting that first paycheck....can't wait to start my Disney fund.....

I'm working tomorrow for a few hours too.....

So Tia - what do you know about filing as a 1099 - Independent Contractor?

I guess this is where Im getting nervous about this? They dont take out taxes - how will this work?

AND - I wish you'd reconsider moving your trip up. I would *love* to see you! And I know HHN is going on in September too. :guilty:

Chris--Oh yeah, I'll let you know. Maybe you can write some articles too.

Cat--Its a PITA. Well maybe not. When you pay your taxes, get an accountant. But save about 40% of your income just in case for when you do have to pay. Now with me being a babysitter I have to file and pay taxes quarterly.

So, I was driving to the park where I was supposed to meet Lori (but she had to cancel because of car issues) and I GOT MY FIRST SPEEDING TICKET!:headache: :sad1: Right across from the park. The wierd thing is, the police officer was driving towards me when he clocked me. I was nice and cordial and didn't argue, but I asked him how that all worked. He said I was going 64, I say 57, but it doesn't really matter since the ticket is the same. I thought the speed limit was 55. Nope 45. And another wierd thing...no idea what the fine is. They don't put it on the ticket, and the police officer doesn't know. I have to wait 14 days and then call and ask.

TIa--I'm a guide-in-training...I don't feel like doing the other stuff now though...so don't look for my 2cents any time soon.

hi real quick!! we had a fabulous time in Guanjuato yesterday and even went up this huuuge mountain to a church called Cristo Ray! It's amazing! gotta run to meet everyone for breakfast, we are heading back to Aguascalientes again today, because there is another big party tomorrow!!

Aw, thanks Cat! HHN is the very last weekend in Sept and then through Oct. Plus Food and Wine! Terry still has not told me what he wants me to do. Part of me wishes he would say push it back until December so I can go when it is cooler and see the X-Mas stuff! I will let you know as soon as we ... I mean HE decides! ;)

Well if you need any help let me know! Once you get going it is super easy and fun!

Glad you are having fun!!!

Gosh, did you guys know Lowe's is like THE biggest time suck in all of America? We can spend HOURS there. Home improvement nerds I guess. A lot of stuff in then house was all new when we moved in, but some of it is just not good! lol. So we are in the process of doing little things like changing out light fixtures, etc. Ryan has decided he wants a Star Wars room! And of course I can't take the easy way out and order him a SW themed comforter, etc. Ohhh Noooo..... We are painting, ading a galaxy to the ceiling (maybe), hanging ships from the ceiling to look like a space battle, etc etc. Plus painting symbols on the walls like Empire, Rebel, etc. We are also switching all of our lights over to the energy saving CFLs! If you guys need them Lowe's has a 12 pack on sale for just under $10! That is the cheapest I have ever seen them.
Ok, I am going to go change out the drawer pulls in our bathroom. Big fun eh? I know you all are jealous!

I'm not loving Colorado so much. My first speeding ticket on Thursday, and DD in the ER on Friday.

So here's what happened:We were leaving the hotel room, and she must've stuck her finger between the inside of the door and the wall, so as the door automatically closed, screaming occurred. I opened the door and her finger was blue and disfigured. Thought it was broken for sure. The housekeeper ran and got ice, and the front desk gave me motrin, a popsicle, neosporin, a bandaid, and directions to a clinic. She calmed down and when DH got back from work I called the dr. who said take her to the ER. We tried the clinic we got directions for, but we couldn't find it, so we used the Garmin (co-worker had let us borrow--its awesome)to find the nearest hospital. It was U of Colorado. You had to go through a metal detector and bag search before even registering. We get to the front desk and they said, "You know this isn't children's, right?" Since I was a bit scared by the ER, we took her to children's, which was a block away. It was 1000% nicer. They had a tv with a bunch of free pay-per-view like children's movies, and animal pictures and bright colors everywhere. It was really nice. They x-rayed her finger and then a tech came to put a splint on her. While he was still doing gauze (open wound) the supervising doctor came in (we had seen a fellow (i.e. med student) before). He said it wasn't broken, there was a spot they thought might've been broken, but its not. So they just buddy wrapped it with gauze.

And with the ticket: I was taking DD to a playground, and driving about 57 in what I thought was a 55. It was a 45, and I was clocked at 64. It was moving radar...the police officer was actually driving towards me. I can't believe I was actually going that fast. I almost hyperventilated when he pulled me over. I couldn't talk. I've never been pulled over. In Colorado the fine isn't even listed...you have to wait 14 days and then call.

I am so sorry you aren't loving my home state! But I can see how a series of unfortunate events could put a damper on things.
I am glad to know your daughter is ok! And, yes the children's hospital up there is great. When my brother was a baby we spent quite a bit of time there and even waaaayyyy back then it was wonderful.
The speeding ticket makes no sense to me. I have never understood how they can clock you when they are driving towards you either. :confused3 If it is your first one, I think you can take driving school instead of paying the fine and then it does not give you any points either. Not sure how that works in other states, but that is how it is here. You might even want to try to fight it. Some cops can be such turds when it comes to tickets. We got pulled over one time on base at about 1am when there were NO other cars in sight for turning left and not waiting 100 yards before we got into the right lane. Yeah, it was redic!
Anyway, I hope you are at least enjoying the amazing views and mountains! Have you had a chance to go to the museum there? I would suggest you go if you have time. It is out of this world. Lori took us to see the Titanic exhibit there. Wow!!!! If you have time you might want to take a drive to Garden of the Gods or Pikes Peak! The scenery is gorgeous!

I know I wrote you back...but it didn't post...

Last weekend we went to the zoo and Rocky Mountain National park and had a snow ball fight!

This weekend we went to Kidspree (outdoor children's festival in Aurora) and then the children's museum and aquarium restaurant. We only have one more dinner left here, and its between the mexican restaurant Lori recommended or the steakhouse with a slide in it.

I actually do like it out here...just not the added unnecessary expenses.

Oh and check out who i saw at breakfast!

OMG!!!!! Where is everyone? Are you all allright????? What's new here is that my husband's grandmother is staying with us for a few days. She comes up from Florida every summer for like 4 or so weeks, and takes turns at all the relatives houses. It's great that the kids get to spend such quality time with their Great Grandmother! talk to you all soon, hope all is well.... and that Rebecca made it home safely!!!! (with no more added expenses.... like overweight luggage?????):goodvibes

:yay: :woohoo: Now you just have to wait for your LT test results.

The Lt's test results came in today, I have a better chance of hitting the lottery or getting struck by lightning than making Lt.:guilty: :sad1:

I failed the test by 10 points. I did'nt feel so bad after i learned that out of the 33 guys at my station only 1 passed it and bearly. Passing was a 75, he got a 75 exactly. Still some part of me was heart broken. I guess i will take it again in 5 years.

I'm here...just hate typing on a laptop & I'm still without my computer.....blah

PJ - That SUCKS! I'm sorry, we ALL know you were the best guy for the promotion!

I had my first call for work on Monday - a young first time mom, 30 weeks pregnant, hubby is in the service, in Iraq, she's living with MIL, went to ob for regular checkup, no heartbeat :( She wasn't in labor, so we decided not to induce her, & try to get hubby home. The Red Cross was actually amazing, and intervened to get him released & sent home asap. He's actually arriving at Ohare later this afternoon. Unfortunately nature took it's own course and she delivered a 4 lb stillborn baby at 9:30 last night. I know I said I was up to this but WOW it's hard. I literally think the only thing that got me thru last night, everytime I left the room to get something or take a break, I literally thought in my head - One day closer to going back to WDW....Mike & I decided that I'm going to put almost all of my earnings in a savings account for vacatons. I think I HAVE to have something postive to look towards from all the saddness or I'm gonna burst. It's not gonna be a whole lot of money, I'm only in the budget for 20 hours every 2 weeks. Sometimes more (like this week with a death) sometimes less.

ok, so since I NEED to talk about something positive....

Has anyone stayed at CBR before??? Pj I think you're going there this time right? I was thinking since we've got 10 days in March, & Casey's going to be with band for 4, Grace & I might splurge & stay somewhere else. Although Grace said - NO MOM I LOVE POP!!!! - maybe if I show her the pool/slide she'll change her mind. We do this everytime we go...I offer to stay somewhere else & they both protest & say no. So I was thinking of doing a split stay...POP for a few days (4 or 5) and then swithcing to CBR or AKL. Have you guys done any split stays? PITA? or fun? The Royal Princess's have also given me permission to do some NON character dining - FINALLY:yay: I was thinking Cal Grill & Coral Reef? Thoughts?

ok other than that....summer is whizzing by...Casey starts Pom camp on the 4th...so we only have about a week left of actual summer....Going to Six Flags tomorrow (even though I know I'm gonna hate it especially after Hershey Park)...

I'm also painting my scrap room....Yellow, black & red! I'll take pics when I'm done.

Have a great day everyone......& give those kiddos (both small & big) a HUGE HUG today!!!!
