I'm looking for a bit of an unusual gift to send to a family that lives quite a distance from us. I know that they love popcorn so I was thinking of getting them this.

I'd love to hear from anyone that may already have this popper or something similar.

Thanks!

DS put a popcorn popper like that on his wedding registry, got it and got rid of it less than a year later.
I like my air popper. Have had it of about 35 years.

I LOVE popcorn and popcorn poppers and I would LOVE that!

We have "turbo cooker" that we use for popcorn and it works great and the popcorn is fabulous. It is the only use the turbo cooker gets even though its not really made for popcorn but is made to make meals like chicken etc in.

Google turbo cooker and you will see it and see why its shape is just ideal popcorn cooker!

Anyway - I would LOVE that gift.

Very nice! Check here first though to see if there's something you like better - I'm pretty sure I saw one in their catalog:

We have the first one. It's down in our home theater and has gotten a lot of use. Unfortunately our first one was a dud-the motor burned out almost immediately. It took weeks to get a replacement (they're only sold at Christmas I guess, so they had to ship one from a store in California (we're in Michigan!)) but this one has been going strong with lots of use. If you use the movie theater oil stuff (it's sold at Sams Club) it tastes just like the stuff at the movies!

I also have the stir crazy-that's my popper for non-movie nights. We had one growing up, so that's the one I wanted. The butter thing on top doesn't work all that well, but it makes great popcorn nonetheless. I've had it for about 5 years now and haven't had any issues. I use about half a tablespoon of oil to half a cup of kernels.
