Can anyone tell me how much pop warner effects the parks? We were planning our first christmas trip to Disney the week that they are going to be there. We plan on staying at a moderate hotel so I figured that would not effect it but I was just wondering if the parks get crowded and what goes on.

Thanks

We go every year in the beginning of December. Pop Warner I feel doesn't effect the parks a whole lot. However, it has become an extremly popular time for families to go. Over the years we've seen this time frame go from being dead to somewhat busy. However, there's nothing that could get you in the mood for the holidays like a trip to Disney it's great. You should be ok at a moderate. There maybe a few there but they stay mostly at values. Have fun. :thumbsup2

We've gone twice during Pop Warner week, and never noticed too much in the parks, only the Values. Enjoy!!

Only real problem we've experienced is screaming cheerleaders. Screaming in lines is annoying. Screaming while on a ride (Kili Safari in AK, JC in MK - and I mean non-stop screaming from start to finish) can kill a ride. And heaven help you if you get on a bus with a dozen or two of them....

I have heard that there is a sizeable contingent at POR which would also impact the busses for POFQ. Be careful which moderate you choose. I've heard their presence at the parks is usually limited but a bigger problem on the busses, pools, food court and resort.

Have a great trip!

A co-worker went last year during Pop Warner week and he didn't even know it was going on. Very little impact on the parks, but can be noticeable at the Values and some Moderates, like others said. We went the week after Pop Warner last year and if 15-minute waits for rides is "somewhat busy", then who am I to complain. One day at MK, my DD and I rode Splash Mtn during the afternoon parade and there was literally nobody waiting to get on-- we rode twice without getting off. Can't beat that!

I was thinking the same thing! The busses are killer. Trapped in a metalic breadbox that echos like crazy and you have these chants that just make you wanna clean your ear with a screwdriver. The values are hit hard with these vistors. We stayed that the CBR and there were deffinatley some Pop kids staying there. Parks, no big deal minus screaming que's "Go.. Go Team.. Go!...Go Team!" We chant in our own group :cheer2: "Go.. Go home! Go! Go home!" :cheer2: They were even doing it on the rides. Miserable it was. Wish I was at Disney at the same w/a paintball convention so I could show them "my pride" too! hahaha just kidding :teeth: !!!!!!!!!!! I know... not very DISNEY like . We just agreed to never attend during Pop week. And that we would prolly try and avoid Jersey week also.

We were there for Pop Warner week last year and had absolutely no problems with them! The lines were short everywhere except for Fantasyland (lots of families with preschoolers) and for Soarin. We would notice a cheerleader here or there but never heard them cheering or anything. It was a great week to go and we are going back the same week this year :thumbsup2

We're booked into POFQ from 27th Nov to 5th December. Does anyone know how the competitions work? For instance are there more children around at the end of the week as they are knocked out of the competitions, or more at the beginning of the week as they are waiting for their games? I could always cut a few days off our stay and perhaps move to the Boardwalk or up to Universal.
