Pop Warner Week

We are in the process of trying to decide what dates to book for our trip next year, and the Pop Warner Super Bowl week comes into play for parts of two different date scenarios we are looking at. How much of an effect does Pop Warner ACTUALLY have on crowds? We will likely be staying at Wilderness Lodge, so we don't have to factor in that they will all be at the All Star Resorts. But I'm assuming that they will not exactly be flooding the parks all the time as they do technically have games to play while there. What have your experiences been?

I don't have a personal experience, but I've heard from many people that as long as you don't stay at their resort you'll be totally fine.

The parks don't seem to be impacted much crowd wise other than the party they have at one of the parks (2017 has the party starting at 8:15 pm at AK - not sure where it will be next year). This year the resorts they are staying at are Pop, All Stars, Caribbean Beach and Coronado. The resorts where they stay are very crowded and there is a tendency to have kids being more unsupervised than you would hope (parents talking and hanging out and not watching kids). The cheerleaders tend to be the more noisy ones as they tend to break out into cheering. Shouldn't have any problem at the resort you are staying.

Excellent! This is what I was figuring would be the case. I keep reading about how in general this particular time of the year is a great time to go.

What is the date for this year for the party at AK? We're headed there next week.

I've been there many times during this week and will be arriving next Saturday! I don't think they have much of an effect on crowds. I've always stayed DVC so resort is not an issue.

We are staying DVC as well so I'm definitely not worried about that. I certainly wouldn't want to have to listen to spontaneous cheers breaking out poolside! I am relieved to hear everyone say that there's no real impact to crowds.

Most kid athletes at Disney don't have park time on the days they play.

Dd just had 3 game days and one off day for park touring.

And many can't miss a lot of school to make a 'Disney vacation' week out of it.

We are driving home now-school and work in the morning. We'll get home really late tonight. Traffic has been awful and added 2.5 hours to our 8.5 hour trip.

we have gone during this time, stayed at CBR. Was totally fine. No problems.

We overlapped a few days with pop warner week last year and we were staying at pop century. I did not notice any impact in the parks or at pop century.
