Do you notice the kids in the parks or mostly just in the resorts?

Mostly in the resorts and the food courts and the resorts...you will run into some groups in the parks but on the whole they are not bad and not over whelming...remmeber one bad apple spoils the bunch....you will hear bad stories but the 4 trips we made during POP week was not bad at all....have fun and dont let a few pre-teens stress you out

Now we only ran into them in the parks last year-mostly MK. Never saw any at the Poly. They were having fun & not too bothersome.

We were there in 2006 staying at Pop and I only saw one small group at MK that I would guess was from Pop Warner. Never saw anyone else.

We were there for PW in 07. I barely noticed them. However, my then 12yo son did! I didn't really see them in the parks at all. ;)

They stay at the All Stars and POR, so that's where you'll see them in food courts and around the grounds.

If you're talking about here next week, well, then I guess you'll find out for yourself, lol.....but if you're planning for 2009.....well, my family is here right now and will be here all next week as well, so I had planned to conciously watch for them and report back so stay tuned, lol.

I'm getting the lucky chance to travel with my daughter's cheer team (now mind you these are teenager's-Varsity High School Squad) - but it should be interesting to stay at a hotel with a bunch of cheerleaders, lol.

I stayed at POR last year during POP Warner when the cheerleaders were there(they were at both POR and POFQ) and there was very little impact. We saw them walking around the resort and in the food court but we always found a table and they behaved just fine.

No issues w/ the buses and none at any of the parks either.

We're staying at POR - arriving 12/13 - what dates are the Pop Warner groups there? Thanks!!

There were several groups today at Epcot, and they were, quite honestly, out of control! I was in Mouse Gear and they were running all over at 9PM, pushing people, throwing the balls, I actually decided to leave the park before the Illuminations because I was afraid to see what it would be like trying to leave with them all!

I heard from another couple that they witnessed a group fighting at one of the All Star resorts today also....

I'm thinking that this is going to be my last Thanksgiving trip to WDW!

You sure it was POP kids they dont start till next week??

I thought Pop kids start this weekend???

If not them, than there is a HUGE group of kids here now for something else. They were all wearing shirts that had the same name/logo on it, but in different colors, I can't remember what it said though.....

Yeah its not weekend yet...There could be groups that have arived earlier...Like I said earlier one bad apple spolis the bunch, moldy bread ruins the loaf...

We have been several POP weeks and never really had an issue...We noticed them mostly at the resorts and we stayed at the All-stars each time...

jensen: If you read all the many previous threads about Pop Warner and the Cheerleaders, you will probably come to the conclusion that you DON'T want to be at WDW during those times. Disney makes a lot of money from these groups and does virtually nothing to curb their behavior.

I know the group you're talking about....I don't believe they're POP Warner though. There were three colors that I saw.....blue, yellow and red.....and all the shirts had the same school logo and said something Middle School. The adults that are with them (wearing the same shirts) are doing little to even try to control them.

We were in American Pavillion taking a few photos of the gingerbread house. The little alcove where the house is was empty, I lined my girls up for a photo and stepped back to take it....the door to the food court opens and in comes at least a dozen of the blue colored shirts, three of them rush over to the house and literally shouldered my girls out of the way. And then started trying to lean over all the way like they wanted to break off a piece of the gingerbread house. Snapping photos with their cell phones. I glanced around to find someone in charge of them, to see the only adult in the same shirt following the rest of the group that were literally running to the food lines weaving in between tables/chairs instead of logically going up the aisle.....empty chairs were shoved out of the way as they went. The adult woman did nothing....didn't call out for them to slow down, didn't push the chairs back in place, nothing. Just meandered after them. The three at the house finally finished their cell photos and left in the same rush as they arrived.

As we were leaving a little bit later, I opened the door just as a lady with a cane was pushing the door as well....I stopped to let her come in first....and little blue shirt kid literally pushed and squeezed his way past my two daughters behind me and myself to get out the door instead of waiting. Even if I hadn't waited for the lady to come in, we'd have not been out that door ourselves before he shoved past. My daughter calls out "Excuse YOU"....he turned around and flipped her off.

Saw the red group later climbing over the rope at the Japanese temple and going up the stairs shouting and pushing each other. Adult was standing at the bottom with arms crossed looking out over the lagoon....doing nothing to stop them.

Saw the yellow group but they were behaving at the moment, lol.

Yep....so glad my middle school age daughters don't attend these fine quality public institutions (we homeschool). I promise to stay off my soapbox about the lack of character, discipline and common courtesy being taught.

Not sure what they were at Disney for, but seemed obviously it was some school related trip because they all had on the matching Tshirts. I was annoyed but brushed it aside. Now seeing others complaining I'm thinking next time I see them, I'll make better note of the school name......and maybe call the principal and see whether they care about their kids' behavior. Might be an interesting call, lol. The adult "supervision" was completely useless.....I can only hope that it was parents that were in over their head and didn't know how to deal with a group of pre-teens and not the teachers who ought to know better!

We were at AK yesterday and saw several groups of teenage girls in matching tshirts, I don't know if they were pop warner, but they all seemed to be well behaved, it was just cumbersome to get around their groups at times.

Sounds like local school kids. Unfortunately, no way to know when they will be there.

You can say that! I encountered some type of Cheer Championships going on in April this year and it was a disaster. I had to change to three or four different Disney resorts to escape the madness. Basically, the value and some of the moderate resorts where these teams were at were the wildest bunch of teens I had ever think I'd live to see.

I seen trash being thrown around, girls running down the walking paths with bathing suit bottoms on but no tops on holding themselves up with their hands, boys pulling down their pants to show their privates at the girls, screaming, pounding on the walls and floors in the room, etc. You name it I saw it. Even Disney Security said they couldn't control it or believe it because it was so rampant and bad.

All I can say to the parents of any competion teen sport going to WDW is DON'T ASSUME anything even if you think your child is "not like that" and we as other guests count on parents to control their children and know where they are. I can't tell you how many parents were called out of the rooms during the Security raids and not one parent seemed to give a darn.

I have been to WDW toward the end of Pop Warner and did not notice a problem. I saw a few kids in the parks and that was about it. I stayed at ASMo that year, but was hardly at the resort so I can't comment on their behavior there. I am arriving next week on Friday the 12th, again at the very end of Pop Warner. We are staying at ASSp. I am wondering how they will be, but I don't think we will be at the resort very much this trip, as we are only there for four nights and almost all of our time will be spent in the parks. I'm not really anticipating any problems. If I survived the Brazilian tour groups this July, I think I can survive Pop Warner!
