I am in the middle of day-by-day reservations for Dec 7th-Dec 12th. We always plan our tips in May as we love the weather and lack of crowds that time of year. This year we are planning on making a short trip in December to finally see the decorations for Christmas. I just discovered that Pop Warner week is happening during that time. Is Pop Warner week a week I should avoid? We could go the following week (Dec 14th -20th), but are not able to go the first week of Dec due to work constraints.

I would appreciate feedback from wise DVC folks :confused3

Pop Warner has no effect on the DVC resorts and not a lot of impact on the parks. I'd stick with the week you've chosen. We've been several times while Pop Warner has been going on and had no issues. Seems the largest impact is at the value resorts.

I stayed at BWV last month during Pop Warner week and it was not an issue.

We've been, and the biggest thing is the number of - as my three year old son put it "silly girls" running around in packs in the parks.

We were on the monorail with four or five young ladies behaving like sixteen year old cheerleaders in a pack do "Did you hear....!" "NO!" "Love your lipstick by the way...." and LOTS of giggling. They got off and he looked at me, very seriously and said. "Mommy, those were very silly girls."

(Also, a little more teen PDA than I'm comfortable with and than average that week.)

I thought traditionally that POP Warner week was right after Thanksgiving through the first week of December? That's when it was this year. Has it been officially announced that it will be the second week in December? We're planning to be there from Dec 6 - 14.

If you stay at any of them you will see them all over the place. Girls doing ther hair and make up by the pool. But nothing in the parks as thay have games .I have gone 3 time and had no problems.

They have their regional championships Thanksgiving weekend and travel to WDW the following weekend. Thanksgiving is late this year - November 27. The official dates have not been announced but the bet is the week of Dec 7 based on historical dates. It would be difficult for them to travel to WDW the weekend after Thanksgiving, which is the most heavily traveled weekend of the year. They only make their reservations last minute based on who wins regionals.

If you are at a Value, they can be annoying. Any group of young kids in Disneyworld has the same potential to be annoying, it is not just the cheerleaders though. They are just a little strange to me wearing alot of makeup all day long, even in the parks. And the curly wig attachments are also a puzzle to me. But, whatever. They sometimes practice on the grounds early in the morning at the hotel, and the food courts can be hectic if they are in there. The pool might be the worst spot though, but it is winter and alot of people do not even use the pools then. They can be loud using the pool late at night, but that does not really bother me, it might bother a family trying to get a baby to sleep or something. They can be seen in the parks sometimes, but like most large groups you can usually go around them, or avoid them, unless they are running like they sometimes do......

Great - I will stick with those dates. I cannot wait to see the Christmas decorations:cheer2:
