Pop Warner football weekend? Crowds?

How does this affect crowds? I am trying to go 12/8-12/11 and that's when Pop Warner is taking over all of the Value Resorts and Port Orleans. The CM I spoke with at reservations says I have a slim chance of getting a value room that weekend. I am thinking I don't want one! Now I am thinking we shouldn't go. Will it be insanely crowded at the parks? I thought it would be slow before Christmas.

P.S. DH wants to go. He too loves Disney. He worries it costs too much.

WDW seemed really crowded while we were there (so much for low crowds early in December, for us at least). We did see a few groups of kids around and cheerleaders seemed to be practicing as they were walking around the parks! We stayed at All-Star Sports, checking in about 10:30 pm after a late flight. We were glad to get a room in one of the touchdown buildings since it's so close to everything, until....we got to the room and tried to sleep. Our room overlooked the football field and was within earshot of the pool. After several calls to security, we finally got some quiet at 2:30 a.m. If I had acted that way on trips, my chaperones growing up (I had some great ones), would have sent me home on the next bus.

My suggestion is just to watch the location of your room assignment and go with the flow. We also went in May the year before and the crowds seemed about half what they were in early December. And yes, we switched parks, followed recommendations of the unofficial guide, what people with tourguide mike told us everything as we couldn't escape the crowds.

I might have been a bad night for it too, but MK was the most crowded on Saturday and during MVMCP than it was the entire 10 days we were there.

We were there for the entire Pop Warner week last year and we barely noticed them. Granted, we stayed at CBR where none of Pop kids stayed but the parks were fine. We only noticed them once during evening EMH at MK but they were acting fine. The biggest crowds we experienced were the day of the Xmas parade taping at MK, but that had nothing to do with Pop Warner (just crazy Regis & Kelly fans ).
