POP vs. WW of Movies?

I am heading to WDW in August with my two year old DS - he knows all the characters and loves Disney movies. I am not sure where we are going to stay yet (value, moderate or beyond) but I after all the rave reviews of the POP I thought it would be great but now I am thinking that DS might enjoy the Movies better as it will have all the characters he knows and loves.

Anyone stay at both and have thoughts?

Stay at wws. The crouds are less. I stayed at pop and i couldnt sleep because of the kids in the pool.lol

I've stayed at both. I prefer any of the All Stars to Pop. Check in was a nightmare, HUGE lines at Pop. All Star Movies had a long check in line, but the line seemed to be moving more efficiently. Our room at All Star Movies was facing the parking lot and very quiet. At Pop, we were facing the parking lot and there was alot of foot traffic by our room and you could hear the people talking as if they were in the room. Also toilet flushing at Pop seemed much louder. Our baby woke up every time the toilet flushed.

POP is the "upscale" of the value resort and that is why you are finding a lot of wonderful reviews on POP. It has surrey bikes you can rent. It has a jogging/stroll path along the lake. They actually have the Mickey shampoo/soap rahter than the dispenser on the wall. You can get a good glimpse of the fireworks/Spaceship Earth from certain bldgs (60s/50s 4th floor near the lake), you can ask for a lake view (quiet) or the "Disney in your face" where you can ask to face the icons.

Asmovies has: Buzz/Woody in "Andy's Room". Mickey the Sorcerer. Fantasia. Perdita/Pongo. Herbie the Love Bug. Mighty Ducks. There's also Donald Duck/Daisy tucked away from the palm trees where you will also find a nice hammock.

POP has: Mowgli/Baloo (MY FAVORITE!!), Playdough, MR/MRS Potato Head, Mickey telephone... computer, 8 tracks,....

Honestly, I think your son would really love the ASMovies! He will easily relate to those icons.

With my children being 8 and 6, I think they prefer the POP and I do too!!

Which ever you choose... you and your family will enjoy Disney!!

My friend and I had reservations at the All Stars. We got there at 7pm and were told that although we had a reservation there were no rooms for us! :O What in the world, right?! We had to move to POP or sleep in the lobby of the All Stars. It actually turned out better because we had a great time at POP. Enjoy your stay, either way! :)

That's always been a fear of mine of checking in late somewhere. So sorry that happened to you. Glad it worked out!

Thanks for your apologies, but it wasn't your fault! (Unless, of course, you took that last non-smoking room! ;) )

The kicker was that I chose a 9:30am flight from Chicago, which would arrive in Orlando about 1pm. I figured that we would get some lunch and head over to the hotel. I had estimated we would get there about 3pmish. Of course, I wasn't expecting a six hour delay at the airport, then, with the luggage, oh, I could go on and on!

The funny part was is that the morning was a disaster and, then, there was no room for us. Then, top it all off, we went to DTD to shop and I forgot the umbrella. Well, what do you think happened...it poured for the next two hours! My friend and I were laughing and cracking up, as well as crying!

The good news was that the rest of the trip was superb! We had wait times of 10-15 min. and often got fast pass for a ride that was 45 min. later and, somehow, found a ride that had a 10-15 min. wait. So we hopped on the first ride and, then, headed over for the fast pass ride. We never waited for any tables to eat and the bus ride was fast, as well. I would say about 4 times we were the last people on the bus right before it pulled away.

Sorry to ramble on, but I guess we all should learn that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! This was my first big trip with a friend and we both agreed that we wouldn't change anything. It also gave us a great story to tell our classes! :)
