The Dw and my 2 DD's 8 & 9 and I are planning on staying at either POR or POP for a week in April. Being used to the food courts in all the AS's how does the Food Court compare at POR to them as compared to POP. :confused3

I can't compare, having not stayed at POP or AK, but we are just back from POR (LOVED IT!!!) The food court was okay. There was a bakery where I often just got an English Muffin for 99 cents and put peanut butter on it, and then had some fresh fruit. The fresh fruit was usually quite good...perfectly ripe bananas, nice fruit cups, hard sweet apples, and juicy oranges. My kids and husband enjoyed the sandwiches (somewhat limited selection, but all tasty). We also had the ribs once and liked those too. There was also pizza, burgers, steak and cheese sandwiches, gumbo, and chicken for dinner and lunch, and excellent omelets for breakfast. We never went hungry but you might get bored of the selection.

We stayed at ASMo last year and CBR this year, and while we loved CBR, we missed ASMo's food court. The moderate food courts are ok, but not nearly as much selection as the values.

We have stayed at POR, POFQ and POP in the past year. My DH and I prefer the food court at POR but our six year old prefers POP because of the frozen slush drinks. IMO the food is better at POR and It doesn't seem as loud as POP. The omlets at POR were GREAT!

In 2002 & 2003 we stayed at POR and 2005 we stayed at POP. POR food court wins flat out, hands down, no question.

We only stayed at the POP because we got a code rate of $55 per night but to us the extra money to stay at a Moderate is well worth it.

I've stayed at both and prefer POR's food court. Pop has a bigger selection, I think, but POR is less crowded, quieter, and the food is great, especially the bakery section.

I prefer the food court at POR. Pop's was okay, I did not like it as well as the food courts at ASMO and ASSP's. I think my family's main problem with Pop's food court was that it was so crowded. The resort was nowhere near sold out but you wouldn't have known it by the food court. We were there in January during an off time and it was always packed, just wall to wall people. Was at POR during a much busier season, resort was 98% sold out and the food court never seemed crowded. Food was as good as the All Star's but the atmosphere is nicer. It's still a food court but it just seemed a little more low key. I think POR's food court is maybe not as crowded as many people who stay there eat at either Boatrights or DTD.

Gee, I thought it was just me, LOL. I was at POR in mid-June and Pop in September and the POP food court was WAY more crowded.

We like the food court at Pop way better as well. They have more selections and the seating seems less crowded. Granted POR does have a table service place that I am sure they would like to have filled so having a smaller food court may push people over there.

We have stayed at POR three times now, last time in June, and at Pop once, in August. If I had to choose which food court to eat in, all things being equal, I would probably choose Pop. I found it to be less crowded and cleaner than PORs food court. I liked the food offerings at Pop. Yes, it is a bit noisier but if you grab a table towards the back, it isn't too bad. We were also able to sit at a booth most times that we ate there.
I wouldn't choose either resort based on their respective food courts though. Pops food court is more similar to the AllStars. I didn't have an issue with the food court at Music when we were there. But, unless I was trying to save money, I would stay at POR. It is a beautiful resort....it has a lot going for it. And when you add in the ability to have a sit-down, table service meal if you want, well....that would be my choice.

We are leaving Friday the 18th of Nov, and are staying at the POP. I can give you a full report when we return on Nov 27th if you would like.

I would appreciate the report greatly. As I stated before I'm thinking more of how my DD's would be at either of them. We generally eat early then off to the parks. When we have a sit down meal it is usually a character breakfast or a dinner at one of the resturants that we have come to enjoy. We don't usually eat dinner at the resorts except fot the Yautsman Steak house at the yaut and Beach club and then let the girls walk in the pool outside.
Ty to all that have responded.
