Pop vs CBR Food Court

Last June we stayed at Pop and enjoyed the food court there. We do the QSDP and found ourselves eating at Pop in the evening after a full day at the parks more than we expected (by choice). This June we will be staying at CBR and I'm curious to know how the food court stacks up against Everything Pop. If you have stayed at both, what are your thoughts? How's the variety? It won't make or break our stay, but it will factor into my dinner plans when we're out and about.

We stayed at Pop, 3 times, but at CBR this year. I am not a picky eater and found the food good at both.

We ate breakfast and dinner at the POP last month and found the food to be disgusting...I remember the CBR was pretty good...I know POFQ is wonderful

I've stayed at both but only had the breakfast & the chili dogs, lol. Service at POP was better than CBR and seemed to have more dinner choices. I remember food court at CBR was always such a hassle. Overall I preferred POP.

These 2 hotels really have some good CS FOOD...
BOTH have some good choices.

Haven't stayed at POP, but loved all of the food at CBR. We never had a bad meal there.

I've stayed at both. We usually only eat breakfast at resort food court, and find the choices to be pretty similar. I do think that Pop has a much better organized food court area than CBR. Easy to manuever around, and we never had a problem finding a seat.

ITA with the better layout. Although we enjoyed our lunch at CBR, we found ourselves jumping from station to station to get food from everyone's 'want' list. Burgers here, chicken over there, kid's nuggets over there, then pizza in a different line. Each time you left an area with product to get food in another area, you get a weird stare from the cashier.

Haven't stayed at or eaten at Pop; but we ate at CBR twice and it was awful both times (I told DH after eating the burger at CBR that I'd rather go to McDonald's -- and I HATE McDonald's). However, our oldest DS was there in July and really liked the philly steak sandwich (he didn't care for any of the other things he tried).

The specials at CBR were very good. I think DH got the turkey dinner 3 nights while we were there. We also chose to eat there several nights. They had a large selection and it was hard to decide what to eat.

I agree POFQ is better.

I think the food quality is close at either location, but POP seems to have a bigger selection.

When we first stayed at POP, I wasn't sure how the food would be since it was a value resort, but we found it surprisingly good, especially the chicken and salad special with the garlic bread The only food court I've enjoyed more is POFQ, which I'll be visiting again in a couple of weeks!

Stayed at both twice each and I think the food is pretty fair at both places. However, I seem to remember Pop having slightly more variety than CBR.

I love CBR as a resort but think the food court is its weakest link. I haven't had "bad" food per se, but its not been that great either, its often been disorganized and the last time we ate there (June of 2009) it was so dirty. Which I know can happen anywhere. I wouldn't not stay there due to the food court and do think their burgers were always good. I just didn't like the stations, it was harder to get my family of four squared away and I found the selection to be a bit lacking, esp at lunch. But again, its was good enough for what we needed, we just didn't eat there too much after about Day 2 or 3 because we didn't find enough to bring us back.

I think Pop has the best food court on property, I love the specials, I think its well laid out and we have stayed there four times and often end up eating dinner there by choice because we enjoy it. And when we stay someplace else, we still like to go over there for some shrimp lo mein and tye dyed cheesecake!

there is more choice and slightly better quality food at CBR, we stayed there on our last visit sept 09, but we found ourselves comparing POP vs CBR alot.

We are staying back at POP next visit Sept 2010. and really looking forward to it.

CBR foodcourt PALES in comparison to Pops... we were not fans of CBRs at all... if you liked the "grab 'n go" section in pop, you will be disappointed, as there was next to none at CBR... selection is much more restrictive and all items is not available at all meals (i.e. a certain salad was only available at lunch, not dinner)...

for a good moderate food court, check out POR or POFQ (not sure why you chose CBR, but if it's not too late to switch, you might consider it, if the food court is important to you)

I've stayed at Pop twice (5/07, 5/08), and CBR once (1/09). We like the selections at Pop better, they had WAY more variety! (Esp love the Greek salad and the Chicken and penne (I can't remember the exact name). If I remember correctly, the quality of the food was about the same though!

I disagree with the other posters though, maybe it's just the times of the year we've been there, but I have anxiety attacks thinking about how crowded and disjointed the Pop food court is compared to CBR! They both have seperate stations, but I rarely had to wait in line for long at CBR, where at Pop, DH would stay with the kids, I'd go get food and it would take me a good 20 minutes before I returned to the table!
That said, when we go back, we're planning on returning to POP.

We enjoied the vast selection at POP! my DH could have fried chicken dinner while DD8 could have a wrap and I could have pasta while DD6 could have chinese! plus the awsome cheesecake!

We love POP foodcourt!! THey have a great selection and the food was great!!

We are staying at CBR this year and am looking forward to trying something different. We don't eat a ton of meals at the resort, but it will be nice to try something new~!

Stayed at CBR in Sept 2007, was pleased with the food court

Stayed at Pop in Feb 2009, was disappointed in the food court and found myself longing for the choices and selection at CBR

I can tell you for sure the breakfast platter at CBR is a more robust offering than the one I received at Pop. The Grab and Go area of CBR is bigger with a better range of items to choose from. Finally, the CBR food court is kept cleaner than the one at Pop. Floors are swept (vs the nasty carpet at Pop) and tables cleaned much more seemlessly at CBR.

Thought the CM service was good at both locations. Was horrified that Pop had run out of Mickey bars, lol. Thank goodness they were able to bring more from the back. I mean can you imagine, a resort CS w/o Mickey bars?
