I know this has been asked before, but I am wondering about the decision specifically because of the gondolas. We are currently booked in ASM for Dec because it was cheaper for rooms that have been renovated to match Pop. However, with people saying the skyliner could be open and running this fall, we are now wondering if that would be worth the switch for the convenience of transportation. Thoughts? I can’t really imagine a downside, but I’m not a DW pro haha. Haven’t been in 20 years!

Both our favorite value resorts. Personally, Id choose Music. Its the best value resort we have always thought. However, we stay at POP alot too. I would just go with music. Its a great resort. along with all the value resorts.

I don't think you can go wrong with either but I prefer Pop for location. It's slightly more centrally located.

I'll be honest... I'm not really sure the gondolas are going to b a convenience for those at Pop. It seems like you'll have to go to CBR first, possibly another stop at the Riveria place and then onto DHS/Epcot... I'm not sure if you have to get off at each of those spots to transfer to the right line or if there's a computer program way to do it automatically but either way I'm not sure it'll save any more time.

The only real difference i know if is that POP has a dedicated bus. They do not share buses. A SM will share buses during slower times during the day with rest of All Stars. I'm also not sure how much the gondola will help POP, other th an it's an additional means of transportation. I do know if you get in at POP you will need at least one transfer at CBR. Also, not sure how much the weather will.play A part in them running. Cold weather storms, winds?

Not sure if cost difference is worth it? Difference in price could amount to a few more snacks or a souvenir (which I would prefer).

POP/AoA Guests will switch to either a DHS or Epcot Gondola at the CBR Station.

The Epcot Gondolas will then go through the DRR Station but will not stop there.

The time savings will come in never having to wait-the Skyliner will load continuously as opposed to a 0-20 minute(and sometimes longer) wait for a bus.

Also there is no stopping at redlights and no long walk from the DHS or Epcot Bus Stops to DHS or Epcot tapstiles-the DHS Skyliner is closer than any bus to the DHS entrance and the Epcot IG Station is steps away from the IG entrance-so there is a time savings and "walk savings" there.

The Skyliner back to POP/AoA is going to be particularly welcome at Epcot and DHS Park Close.

I'd choose the Pop for the gondolas. They will be a "ride" for people when they first open so you might as well use them as a "ride" yet still as transportation to a couple parks.

Not sure but doesn't ASMU still have full size beds? If so, that reason alone would make me pick POP. Or are you talking about ASMO, that is currently refurbing??

I’m contemplating the same thing (Movies vs POP) but we need 2 rooms for 8 nights so the difference in price will be well over $600.

I’m excited for the gondolas but with two strollers and bags for 4 kids I’m not sure I want to deal with getting off and on the gondola. Easy access to the boardwalk area is what’s pulling me towards POP.

POP is not close to the Boardwalk. POP will have the gondolas, I don't see the gondolas as a plus necessarily. You will need to get on at POP and transfer at CBR to the parks.

Ok, ‘easier’ access would have better described what I meant...

It should be easier than buses, since you shouldn't need to fold up the strollers to board the gondola.

Are you sure about that? I assumed I would.

You might have just sold me there!

On the buses you have to because of DOT regulations, which don't apply to gondolas. I expect it to be like the monorail where you can just roll in.
