Pop-up camping in April

Hi,

We're planning to tow our pop-up to FTW for April break next year (Easter week). We do not have AC on our camper - will we be dying, or will it be bearable at that time of year with just our usual fans?

We were there this past April over spring break for 2 weeks. I have got to say the majority of those 2 weeks was HOT. The humidity was high. I think we used our AC for 3/4 of the time we were there. I do think it may have felt worse to us though because we come from Wisconsin and cold weather. It was a huge temperature difference with it being around 90 and humid. Usually when we go in the fall the humidity does not bother us because we are more aclimated to it from the summer temps back home. With that said a couple years before that we were wearing pants and jackets several days. Go figure.

Lived here in florida about half my life and never been able to figure out the weather in the spring. April is a changing month for us. Once you get past march the gardening takes off usually. Are you having temperature problems because of the humidity or becasue of sun on your popup canvas. If its the sun, have you tried the bed-end covers that are available that reflect the sun. Similar to a space blanket but a bit sturdier and larger.

The last time we went was early May and we would have passed out without A/C. As another poster pointed out, the humidity is pretty high in the spring. We went to the parks, sweated all day, came back to the camper, sweated all evening, took a sweaty shower and climbed into our wee beds and blessed A/C It was the best part of the day

Coming from New England, I did find our April trip warm at the campground. I've told DH we need to get the AC installed before another trip south. Our pop-up is AC ready. We were lucky to be in 1500 loop and used the pool for afternoons, but AC would have facilitated better naps.
