Pop room noise?

I think POP is much noisier. There were noisy kids running outside our room too, but that can happen anywhere, I suppose. We've stayed at ASMo five times and I haven't personally experienced noisy kids there, but I'm sure it happens sometimes. But at POP there is definitely a lot of noise coming from other rooms - voices, toliets flushing, showers running. Apparently the rooms are better insulated for noise at ASMo, because I've never heard any noises from other rooms there.

Bring the white noise with you. Your child is used to it running. Without it may seem different to her and affect her sleeping.

It doesn't matter which hotel you stay at. Noise is mostly related to what a person expects and what noise they are used to at home. I find that the rooms are quieter than the neighborhood I live in. So to me it is a pleasure for me to be there.

Has anyone stayed at Pop and one of the AS resorts? Is the noise much better at an AS resort compared to Pop?

To me YES, the ASMu resort was much, much more quieter than POP. But you have to realize that ASMu is a much smaller resort than POP. We won't go back to POP again after a very unmagical experience in Sept. 2007, so we tried ASMu in January and loved it. Quieter, totally refurbished (POP's beginning to show it's age), kid's activities, movies by the Pool, great food court & shopping. Also, we only shared a bus 1x with another AllStar resort, but that could have been because of the time of year. JMHO......

I have to say that we've stayed at Pop MANY times and have NEVER had any problem with the noise level anymore than a moderate or the Dolphin Resort. I will say when we stay at Pop we always ask for the top floor. Also, the area in the back where the pond/lake is, is very quiet and I can say you hardly see anyone around.

Sounds (humor) like the noise level is dependent on whether or not you have kids running around like wild animals. Where are those parents ??!!!

Well, at the Polynesian, the parents were screaming out their door..."We told you kids to wait in the hall...what the 'heck' do you think you're doing?" Yep, that helped quiet 'em down. Or the little boy next door to us, every night he called his Nana to tell her about his day. Yep, we heard about the dry pork chop he was forced to eat, that Dumbo is a sissy ride....no need to go on, it just got worse. And his mother, yelling at him to not forget to tell Nana 'such and such'..oh yes, it was truly wonderful. That family did nothing in a quiet, inside voice.

I have to say whether or not you'll have a loud or quiet experience at any resort is totally dependent on your room location and your neighbors. That being said, I have stayed at Pop twice. Once, very quiet, the other, very noisy. In that case, the white noise machine we bring for DS (our choice is crickets ) was actually an invaulable tool for me to fall asleep. I heard kids at the pool very late at night. I know it's to be expected to a certain degree, but I also like to get some sleep on vacation. I vote yes for the noise machine, I think it will definitely help!

We brought our fan. I wouldn't be able to sleep without it. This gives the room a constant noise and everyone sleeps. We just stayed at the POP on Friday and Saturday nights. We were in a preferred room, 60's, first floor. We really didn't hear any noise and the housekeeping golf carts were close to our door.

We LOVED the bus service! Easy pick up and easy drop off. We moved to the Beach Club Villas and didn't use the bus service because it makes 5 stops each way!

I've stayed at POP about 7 times and have had various experiences. I think the time of year has something to do with the noise level, since the resort can be sold out at peak seasons. I've also noticed how some parents will let their children run past the doors in the morning yelling at the top of their lungs which is frustrating if your trying to sleep past 7:30 am. I guess that can happen at any of the resorts though. Like many have suggested, I'd ask for a room at any of the sections that face the lake where it tends to be quieter!
