Pop= relaxing

POP is definitely NOT a relaxing resort in any way. After our "unmagical" trip in September we decided to go to ASMu instead and after our visit in January absolutely fell in love (again) with this value. It was great because it'd just been refurbished, the standard rooms were in a great location to the food court & pool, it was quiet, the food court was great and we had no issues with the busses. I'd go back there in a heartbeat for another quiet and relaxing vacation!! We've been to POR and enjoyed the quiet there too, but for the money we saved ASMu was great!! :goodvibes

Thanks again,
I changed resorts to POR this afternoon. When I told the CM I wanted to change she said it was definitely a step up and a good choice. We want to try all of the resorts so maybe next time before we check into DVC we will stay 2 or three nights at a value for fun.
Thanks again:flower3:

The buses are POP are really quite good.

:confused3 Huh? - we stayed in Jan- walked past the UNBELIEVABLE bus lines daily- stood in line for almost an hour at DTD while other buses came and went.... decided NEVER again.
Ok..donning flame suit.....;) seriously,I know lots of folks like it there,but sounds like OP is looking for some relaxing resort time,and POP isn't it.....
No flaming from me...it's all about everyone's personal experiences and perceptions.
Bus service to and from DTD is always the worst of any park. I had a car for the first time in Jan and found that it was very nice to just drive to DTD from BW...who knew it was so quick?? Granted, I drove there in the morning when it wasn't overly busy.
But the buses at POP really are not all that awful. Because there are so many guests there, the buses tend to come more frequently. I know that on one trip, my dd, dh and I had walked to the bus stop to go to MK, at about 9:00 am. When I got there, I realized I had forgotten something in the room. The bus was just pulling up, I told dd and dh I would meet them in MK, and I rushed off to the room. Now, my room was about a 7-8 mins walk from the bus stop...in the 80's bldg, back side, by the Rubic's Cube closest to the lake. By the time I had gone to the room and returned to the bus stop, there was another bus just heading in....not bad at all. Considering that I ran most of the way, I figure it took me about 13 mins to get to the room and back to the bus stop.
I have not yet seen huge lines at POP, and I was there in mid-Jan. But, again, I may have just been lucky. But most people seem to think the bus service at POP compares quite favorably with the other resort buses.

Thanks again,

I agree with what you did. POP is my favorite resort, but it is not relaxing. It would be fun though for the kids to experience it at some point, and after a couple days, checking into your DVC will be great.

We stayed at pop for two weeks, it was ok. It is a very lively hotel, the rooms walls are without doubt paper thin. we heard toilet flushes,people coughing and talking.when someone comes out of their room they walk along the balcony and you hear everything. kids run up and down outside your rooms and it is very noisy. the food court was always busy and long queues, it was not relaxing in any way.
the lines for the buses were always very long and at the parks the bus stop to get back was always the longest walk. it is an ok resort, we went last year to the yacht club and were very happy. you can actually get sleep as you can not hear everything in the next room and it is very relaxing. we are going to the beach club in april and looking forward to it. i hope you get on well and find the perfect hotel. good luck
