Need to hear about experiences - we plan to stay at POP in November of this year. We would like to request the 50's Lady building. Heard the 50's is more laid back and quiet. Heard the Lady building was closer to Classic Hall. Can anyone confirm those two? Also, what about floor situations - will staying on the 4th floor eliminate noise of people above running around or dropping things? Any help would be great. Looking forward to trying Pop Century. Thanks DISer's! :flower:

The 50's section is great. We prefer building C (I believe the Tramp building), with a lake view. Nice and quiet back there, and you can see some of the fireworks. The Lady building is a hair closer to Classic Hall, but the difference between the two buildings is pretty minimal. I believe you could get a parking lot view in the Lady building, and it will be close to the parking lot if you have a car. We've stayed on the second and third floors and never heard anything either time. I'm always baffled when people complain about noise from neighbors at POP, it's just not something we've ever experienced so I can't really help you there. We've always had neighbors but none on any side (up, down, right, or left) have ever been noisy and I've never heard any voices or sounds from other rooms.

We just stayed at the Pop the first week of Aug for the first time and we loved it. We requested and received the 70's building. We were in the building behind the Mickey phone. it was a short walk to Classic Hall and the buses. It was quiet and close. We were on the 3rd floor. The 50's section appeared to be about the same distance from the main hall as the 70's.

We had a great stay. The pools were not over crowded. It may be because they have 3. My DS's and DH loved the arcade. The buses ran pretty well. We really didn't have to wait that long but did have to stand some. The eating area is large and they have big tv's at each end of the kids to watch tv while they eat.

I hope you have a great trip. We would book the Pop again!!

We stayed at POP in January 04. It was nice. We were on the 3rd floor in the 70's building. I liked the giant sized fooseball ( sp ) game that was in our courtyard! 70's and 50's are closest standard buildings to the foodcourt. You have your own pool at 50's which will be really nice! Food court and store are all connected, unlike the all stars. We really liked POP when we stayed there. I didnt find it noisy at all. I think you will enjoy it there.

Hi!

I've stayed at Pop twice and both times were great.

Last Dec. we stayed in the 50's. We are two adults so we requested a quiet room, as we always do. We found it to be great, not a bad walk to the lobby and busses and near the 50's pool. We did not get a chance to swim, but the pools were nice. We were on the second floor and did not hear any noise at all, aside from the occasional muffled toilet flush (something I've expereienced at pretty much every hotel I've ever stayed at. That's just what happens when numerous rooms share pipes).

A few weeks ago, we stayed in the 80's section, because my SO just HAD to stay in the 80's area. I liked the pool here better, since it's the quiet pool. Again, we were facing away from the pool, and on the second floor. I heard even less noise this time. However, the walk from the room top the busses was longer, not unbearable, but longer. I think I preferred the 50's. This time, we got towel animals every day except one.

Both times the rooms were clean and we had plenty of towels and toiletries.

My only gripe with Pop is the food court. I just don't like how it's set up. There are multiple food stations and if you want to get something from each, you have to wait in two seperate lines.

We ate there so rarely though, that it was not really an issue, just a minor annoyance.

As far as noise goes, a lot depends on your neighbors. Pop was quiet both times for us. However, in May of this year we stayed at AKL and had a room below a child who apparently needed an exorcism because we got woken up every day by kicking , stomping and bloodcurdling screeches. Luckily, he checked out before we did...

Overall, I like Pop and would stay there again.

We loved Pop. My choice location is 70's Big Wheel, it's very close to the buses and the foodcourt.
