Pop Preferred vs Standard: How's the Walk?

The farthest walk I've ever had to the bus stop at Pop was from Building 7. Once we figured out the path around the parking lot it was hardly anything. I've stayed in each of the sections before and my favorite was the 70s. I think the only time we had a preferred room was when we stayed in the 60s and that was 15 years ago.

We stayed 2019 over Christmas- I don’t recall the building number but it was 50s I think. We didn’t like it at all - we had booked with a sport team code and I think they gave us this location because of that. They must have just had those rooms attached.

We started cutting in the parking lot to get to bus stop and dining hall. Not ideal. The sky liner was a hike too we decided if we stayed there again we will only get preferred.

For us, it wasn't worth it. I think we were the very last preferred room before the standards, on the end, 3rd floor, of the 70s, looking right at the 80s building's staircase.

From my perspective, I wouldn't opt for a Preferred room @ Pop. I think they are noisier due to higher crowd levels and, at any rate, aren't many of the Standard rooms closer to the Skyliner?
Plus I really enjoy walking Hourglass Lake which, I believe, is a shorter distance from Standard rooms.
I should specify that I am a walker.

When we stayed there, we were in the 70's, building 6. The walk to the lobby was only a few minutes, I didn't think we needed a preferred room.
Same with us , we were right next to the bowling pin pool just couple walking minutes to the skyliner or to the lobby. We rented a car and the worst part was walking to the car with the suitcases.
The trip before we were upgraded to a preferred room and we were right next to the buses but I did not use them so it did not matter it just ment more people down my walkway.

Personally, it is worth it to me to book preferred (we love the preferred pool view rooms by the Hippy Dippy Pool). There are some great standard rooms, but I don’t like the stress of worrying where we will end up. With preferred I can relax and know I will have a good room close to the amenities.
