Staying at Pop in February-- decided to purchase one AP to get the discount; reserved preferred rooms as DH & self are older and we're plenty tired after a day in the park. Requested ground floor, but am wondering if that was a mistake? ?Will it be too noisy? We have two rooms, DH & self in one & DS and adult brother in another -- hoping to get connecting rooms -- reservation confirmation says guaranteed, but not sure .... any advice would be much appreciated. thanks

 , Toadi,

I'm not a spring chicken either :) and have stayed at POP. I don't think you need to pay for a preferred room location - some of those rooms are not all that close!

I would suggest changing to a standard room, request 50's building 3 (Tramp) lake view(pretty and quiet), 1st floor. Tell them you are "older" and need a room closer to main building. Truly, a preferred room is not necessary.

Here's a map that will help you to see POP:

On the map, building "C" is really building 3 (Tramp).

Here's a great link for POP:

and check out the DIS POP faq thread:

Here are photos from Tyler, a former POP Cast Member! The beautiful view you see of the lake is from the building I recommended. 1st floor room.

Any questions, I'll try to help!

We stayed in preferred rooms in 60's section A in September. We had connecting rooms with no problems at all. We were facing the lake and it was *very* quiet. However, every day we would walk by the first floor rooms that face the Hippy Dippy Pool on our way to Classic Hall/buses. Lots of other people did this as well because the walkway between building A and the pool is quite narrow and there were usually people sitting at the tables along that walkway that were spread out and poking into the already narrow area. It was a bit difficult to maneuver the stroller through that so we just walked along the sidewalk next to the ground floor room entrances. I can imagine those room get quite a bit of noise as the pool can get loud too.

We're going back to Pop next week and I'm going to request the 50's section I think. I found that area to be more than close enough to Classic Hall and I like the theming there as well. But really I'm not going to complain if we're in a different section, I don't have a problem with any of the buildings and we won't be spending much time in the room anyway.

Anyway, I think ground floor will be fine for you as long as you're not facing the pool. And if you can't get ground floor, I found the elevators to be fast and efficient so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Last Dec I stayed in PC's preferred rooms. Its was by the staircase closest to the lobby but not facing the pool. We loved it except that there is no close parking to the 60's buildings. 50's A is my favorite. One thing to note about where we were placed last year. They first wanted to put us facing the lake but I thought it was a longer walk to the lobby (about the same as 50' and I wasn't paying an extra $10 a night for that. They selected a closer room. If you don't like where they are putting you don't be afraid to speak up.

We liked our preferred room last year.
60s building, facing the lake, end of the walkway, 3rd floor.

Very quiet, and as a bonus, we could see Epcot and the fireworks from the window!
