This is going to be an odd question but here goes. Dh was talking to a lady in town who was in WDW in late July...part of a MG for her family reunion. They stayed at Pop. They loved Pop, and enjoyed it there. However, she told dh that they had some less than 'magical' experiences with the buses there. Said that the Pop buses were miserable and they had to wait up to 2 hrs at times!!! I was there from Aug 9-12 and found it to be the exact opposite. We only waited 25 minutes one time and that was because the MK bus was just pulling away as we came out the shop door. So, my question for any of you who might have been there in late July (when this lady was there)...did you have any issues with the buses, either coming home from the parks or going to the parks??

I was at Pop from July 21-29 and my longest wait was about 15 minutes. There were ALOT of people, so the buses were standing room only most times. Many times we waited for a 2nd bus, so we could have a seat, but even then the waits weren't bad and we relied solely on the buses. 2 hours?!?- I highly doubt it. :sunny:

From what I understand about the buses, is that if there is an abundance of people waiting for a bus, the bus driver will call it in and an extra bus will be brought it to handle the overload. I was there the beginning of July at MK and the wait was very long, maybe 30 minutes, the wait was mostly because, and no flames please, each bus had to deal with someone in a wheelchair and that takes longer because no one is allowed to load the bus until that person is settled in the bus. Because the bus was waiting so long, the line got very long with people waiting to go back to Pop and another bus pulled up along side and started to load the people. It seemed like forever because you were tired from a long day at the park but it probably was only about 30 minutes.

We had a problem with the buses at Pop in late June. Our first night in the parks we were at MK and at park closing we waited for almost an hour to get on a bus back to the resort. Many buses came and left before we got on. Kids were screaming and crying all around us. Needless to say we drove to our evening park destinations for the rest of the trip to avoid that scene again. I liked Pop other than that. I guess if it were at a less busy time of year it wouldn't have been that bad. Hope you have better luck.

We were at Pop this July 9-18 and we never had much of a wait for a bus. We were also at Pop last July and in WDW in July or August for the past 5+ years and rarely do we experience a problem with the buses. In fact our only really long wait for a bus this year was at the Contemporary when waited there for a bus to MGM for EMH after visiting MK earlier in the evening. I have always found the buses around the word to be great transportation and even though I normally have a car we take the buses almost everywhere.

Thanks you guys...that's kinda what I thought you would all say. I just couldn't imagine a 2 hr. wait...maybe an hour at park closing since Pop is so big and the amount of people leaving at closing. But certainly not 2!!!

People tend to over estimate time when they are waiting. I was at POP in June and the only time I had a long wait was at MK after wishes. It took an hour to get back to POP after waiting for the 4th bus. That was the only problem. I was in front of a lady at AK waiting for the bus and she kept going on about how long she had been waiting and I finally turned around and told her that I've only been waiting 10minutes and the bus driver said that the busses run every 20minutes. She gave me a dirty look and shut up. If busses don't magically appear as soon as they get in line they start complaining. :confused3

This doesn't just happen with POP busses. When we were staying at the AKL in October of 2003 it took us 1 hr and 10 minutes to get back to the AKL ofter watching Wishes at the MK.
