I was just reading on an old thread about someone having problems at POP coming back after being at the parks and having a hard time finding a parking space. Has anyone else run into this? We will be going in early December...

We stayed there in July 2005 and never had problems to find parking space. :hippie:

I've never been to Pop, so I can't give specific info, but I can say that parking at any of the reosrts is like lving in an apartment complex. The later you come back, the more likely everyone else (who is ther for the night) will be back before you, and the further out you'll have to park.
On the flip side, early December is one of the less crowded times of year at WDW.

Generally, once we are on property, we tend to take the buses. We tend to drive mainly to get to ADR's on time, or to ge to apark mid-day (bus wait times are longer then), we never drive to get to MK.

if it was an old thread - might have been before DME.

less people now bring their cars or rent them. instead they just use DME.

We stayed at POP last August and had a rental car - we never had any kind of problems parking, it was during free dining so there were lots of people around

We were just there in May - stayed in the 50's building. Never had a problem finding a parking space no matter what time we got back to the resort at night.

Wow we must be in the unlucky minority. We ALWAYS have a hard time finding parking by a building away from the check in parking. So, we usually park in the front, get a drink refill, and walk to our room. 50s parking lot is always a challenge because they tell the 60s, 70;s and 50s all to park there. We have never been in the 80s or 90s though, so I don't know anything about those lots.

We've stayed at POP 12 times so far, at all different times of the year, and have always parked at the check in lot for the whole time because we have driven around and around the other lots and have found nothing when we come back late at night. Early in the day there isn't a probelm but it's every man for himself at night and it is too much trouble.

We stayed in the back by the Rubiks Cube and ALWAYS had trouble finding a parking spot at night - it was bad enough being stuck back there to begin with, but then not to be able to get a decent parking spot was no fun either. We had no trouble parking up front to catch the buses & eat each morning, but night time was definitely not fun hunting down a parking spot near the room.:confused3

Good luck!!

We were there May 11-18. We used the car 5 or 6 days of the 8 we were there. We were in the 90's building. We found a front row spot each time, a couple of times the same one we vacated earlier.

We stayed there twice and had some parking problems as well - the lots just aren't near as spacious as the All Star ones.

We stayed there in early February and were in the 80s section and some nights we had to circle quite a few times to find a parking spot, which was really surprising. I thought parking would be the least of our worries there.

It's funny.. finding a spot at Pop can be easy or hard depending on your point of view and how carefully you think about the layout.

In this map, the red & yellow X indicated our room. The red and yellow "O" indicates where we parked at various times. The walk from 3 of these 4 locations was just about exactly the same.

When we'd first return from the park in the car, if there were no spots at the first "O" on the map, (shown below by the zero in 50's) .. my friends would all start groaning thinking we had this huge walk.

But in reality, three of those four parking areas shown below are pretty much the same distance and the fourth to the far right was actually only about 90 seconds longer.

Now we travelled in March (it was pretty good and busy when we were there)

How early in December? The Pop Warner football Championship and Cheerleaders will be there the first week of Dec. and the place will probably be booked solid.:sad2: You may have problems finding parking at this time if this is when you are planning to go.

We always have a rental car at Pop and have n ever had a problem ....

We stayed in January and only had a problem on the weekends. The week nights the place was empty, but locals came in on the weekend and we had a hard time finding a place when we came back late on Friday and Saturday evening... then Sunday night the place was empty again.

We were in the same building area as on CanadianGuy's map the first week of December last year. We never had a problem parking. In fact, there were many empty spaces! Enjoy yourself...it's a great time to visit WDW.

It really is about realizing all the path locations that can lead to and from your room.. and once you realize that you can park in three or four places that are all a similar distance away.. You can usually find a spot.

The key is figuring out where those areas are.
