Which resort would you stay at? Here are our pro's & con's:

Pop
con-Never stayed at a value resort & think it might be too sm
all/noisy.
con-we will be here for 7 days, will we want to beat each other up for a little extra elbow room?
con-pool looks boring compared to WL
con-DH likes a nice place to stay and many not like it here which would make us miserable if he is miserable. (He usually sets the mood) :guilty:
con-correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the beds are smaller here than at WL. We are used to a King sized bed.

pro-Price of course. It's will save us about $300 to stay here.
pro-we are going at the same time as my DB & SIL & their kids & they are staying here. Our kids get along great & would have fun (unless dad is a drag)
pro-kids would be just as happy here as anywhere in WDW.

WL-
pro-We have stayed here before and love it. (DH said to hurry up & book it when the AP rates came out)
pro-bed sizes
pro-happy hubby/daddy
pro-boat to MK which is where we will spend a good chunk of time.
pro-bunk beds

con-price (even though we have the ap rate of $124/nt + tax)
con-rooms aren't all that huge

Hmm, I'm beginning to answer my own question but still want to hear from the awesome DIS'ers out there!! :grouphug:

Thanks

I vote for WL. Especially if dh liked it before. You don't want to hear about how you should have stayed at WL for 7 days! Your families can visit at both resorts. The close location of WL puts it at the top of my list. We love staying at the monorail resorts but you can't beat the price of WL. We are returning there for our December visit.

I say go for the Wilderness Lodge too, you can always visit your friends at Pop Century or come visit you, plus you have a GREAT rate at the Wilderness Lodge.

At that rate I think there should be no question as to where to stay. WL of course. Is there no way your family would want to stay there or is that out of the question? I'd feel bad that my family wasn't in the same hotel as us(it's happened for us a few times already) but I'd feel even worse if I stayed somewhere I really didn't want to stay. IMHO there is no comparison between POP and WL. Just my own personal opinion.

Hands down - WL - w/o a doubt. No further discussion...........

If staying at the WL is not going to break your vacation budget then go for the WL. You cannot compare the two as the Pop is great if you are looking for a vacation experiance where you are going to be in the parks all day and you are just going to use your resort as a place to sleep and grab a quick bit. If you are going to be spending more time at your resort then go for the WL.

I vote WL. There is no rule that says if you have younger kids you all can't go back and let them nap in the same room.

The rest of my family is set on staying at Pop. They don't think that they will spend much time in the room anyway. Their kids are 6 & 9. I have a 3 year old & he will definitely need some down time. At least at WL, I have a balcony to sit on while he rests.

Good points from everyone, here. I have to laugh because my SIL asked if our kids could just swim at the pools together at each others' resorts. I explained to her about the great pool hopping debate and didn't know what to tell her (no flames please). :rotfl:

It's not breaking our budget to stay at WL but it wouldn't kill us to use that extra $300 elsewhere.

WL would make it lots more convenient for that mid afternoon nap!
