Do you drink "pop" or "soda" or do you call it something else?

I voted "other" because I use both words, without a preference for either one.

I voted other...

Reason being....Its all coke to me.
There are different flavors/versions in my book though...
Basically anything that is carbonated/carmel watered is coke to me.

Dr. Pepper
Coke
Diet Coke
Cherry Coke
Vanilla Coke
Pepsi
Diet Pepsi

I call it by whatever the brand name is. Or just the generic word "cokes". "Let's go have a coke."

tonic

If you want tonic water, ask for tonic water.

Everything else is just tonic

I voted soda, although sometimes we call it sodapop and my extended family, sibs etc and I call it tonic!

Soda..but it has to be Coke

We call it tonic but I think it is a regional thing.

Coke as a general term for soft drink, though I often say "soft drink" or the specific brand.

Soda or Pop will only get you a "You ain't from around here, are ya?" comment. :teeth:

It will be said with love, of course.....bless y'all's hearts...

When I was growing up, our family - and the whole Milwaukee area, I think - used "soda" to refer to any soft drink. My cousins, who lived in a rural area, used "pop" for soft drinks.

My cousins were older, and were all jerks and bullies that used to beat us up when the families got together. And none of them were very smart, either. So to this day I think of someone who says "pop" as a dope.

It's totally unfair, but I'll probably never get over it.

I grew up in FL and we always called it Coke...it doesn't matter if it is pepsi, real coke or sprite...it is all Coke!
